AC Vintage GT3 @ Monza - Sunday 2nd June 2024

Assetto Corsa Racing Club event
So what's the fastest way to run tires in these cars? Been a long time since I've raced them more than a few laps and RSS gt3s made it easy with only 1 tire choice lol.

Seems to take a bit of time to change softs, but also they are an easy 1s faster than mediums

I feel the same way. I didn't dare ask. :coffee:

It was always 50:50 pit stop, softs and 50% race fuel.

The only way I can remember around this problem is a fast driver on mediums all the way and 1 litre of fuel, still will have trouble in the last 10% of the race.
Or hards?? you may get away with mediums on this track, and 1 litre fuel with the Porsche 911
Good luck with that one. :-/

So yeah, I can do some solid 1:50's if I remove all aero on mediums, got some cornering grip back thanks to the mechanical option's we've got but the Lesmo's remain a dodgy proposition. Though the top speeds on the straights is just a hillarious thing to experience on this track.

I've decided the tires just live in a constant flux of identity crisis and accepted that. Who knows, it might be the undercut of the century!

Ok, then it should be twice the soft. It's more fun anyway. Unless I see an excessive accumulation of the letter M at the start. The only thing that worries me a bit is the 50 minutes instead of 60.

Yeah, that's what's throwing me off a bit. According to my tires app, end of life would be the last few laps of the race.

Sounds like 60 min plus is definitely better soft/soft, but for 50min, mediums could be possible, with hard work.

Not that you need anymore pace Hank :D

Oh, forgot it was 50min, so that is a plus for mediums then.
I will still do 50/50% softs,
With half the fuel and softs, it means when I make a mistake it gives me a fighting chance of putting it right.
I struggle with mid engine cars, but the long straights mean I have little choice here other than to go for the Lamborghini.
So I can guarantee I will be doing at least one 360 :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao:

Hi Brian;
I hope to make this one tomorrow. I tried to join the server earlier but got a checksum error... Might have been the password, maybe I have an old one...?
Thanks,
d

Hey Dom. Hope you can make it.

It's popping up as the mercedes failing checksum on the main data file. Maybe check steam updates and run verify file integrity on AC.

I wonder is there a way to check one file? @RasmusP bat signal is up!!

That was it! Did a Steam integrity check on AC and it seemed a few files were corrupted or missing. Works like a charm now. Thx.

So yeah, got a 1.47 setup from a YouTube video that is sensible and has wings, I am just as fast as my stupid NO DOWNFORCE plan... Also it drives a lot better ;)
