United States & Canada

2/08/09 @ 6pm EST (23:00 GMT)- Let's have some fun!!
- Zandvoort 07
- WTCC 07/06/87, Caterhman200hp, GT Sport, GT Club, SR3205, production cars Audi/Viper/Koenigsegg, Gumpert, Mini J
- Practice/qualifiers/warmup/1h endurance
- Weather: WET!!

I only tested the below classes
AI times in the rain

  1. SR3 205bhp 1:46 - 1:47
  2. GT Sport 1:55 - 1:56
  3. WTCC 2007 1:56 - 1:57
  4. GT Club 1:56 - 1:57
  5. CSR 200bhp 1:59 -2:00
The SR3 is clearly in a class of its own... almost 10 secs/lap quicker.

I also tried them myself..

The SR3 is much easier to drive in the rain there than any other class. The CSR & WTCC would come 2nd in an "easier to drive" rank. Both GTs will be an handful...

- Remarks: I know it sounds like a wacky idea, however based on the hotlap server all these cars (except the Mini) lap in about 1:40 to ~1:50 at Zandvoort. The rain might even that out!! I scheduled that event far away to give everyone enough time to voice their opinion and tell me it is absurd. I also threw in the Mini just for fun
Don't forget that cars with very different corner speed (SR3 or even WTCC vs. Viper or any other of the "point & full power" for instances) are bound to provoke chaos (specially in rain)... and the track isn't that wide ;)

Only 15 -20 laps?!?... ok, may I sugest my favorite track ---> The old Nurburgring aka Nordschleife :D

I suggested 15-20 laps because I don't do so well on the long races. 15 laps of Nordschleife would drive me nuts. I'd be out by the 2nd lap. Plus with all of the 40+lap/1hr+ races it would be nice to have some less stressful sprints. Plus it keeps the whole pack closer together making for more exciting racing imo

Hello from another newbie here in the community. Been racing and flying on the PC for MANY years and am now enjoying RACE 07 with STCC. Most of my time has been spent having an absolute ball running the MINI's on the STCC tracks. To me they are a perfect fit.

Anyway, I hope to get my required posts taken care of so I can join you all in the online fun.

Regards,
Trevor

Welcome Trevor!!!!

As a relative newcomer to RD I can tell you it's the coolest group of people around. I have been welcomed with open arms and provided an incredible amount of assistance and mentoring. Its all about fun and fairplay. I haven't had this much fun in years. I'm sure you will too.

Thanks for the kind words gents. I look forward to driving with you soon.

In the meantime I think I am going to play around and setup an STCC server.

Golden rules

Guys,

I am sure everyone already knows that this club is based on mutual respect between all the members on and off the track, but please re-read the rules again.

I would like to add my opinion as well. If you are ever involved in an incident where you are unsure whose fault it is then your best option is always to wait for the other driver. You might even make a new friend in the process:)
