United States & Canada

Hey Bob
As I totally don't understand setting up a car I use other peoples setups. If I cant find one I look at a similar track that I have someone Else's setup for and use it on that track. When I cant do that and have no setup I make only very minor changes to the default settings. I use Ramon's settings and sometimes Bram's. Honestly I would like to do some races with no setups allowed. I like driving the most and computers and tech. aspects the least in racing. It would be more fun to me if understood it but I honestly have trouble. I know some of my Friends would die laughing if they new I was sim racing on a computer and I am surprised I have not killed this PC yet doing this. Marty
PS-Its funny my Dad was an electrical engineer for Ford for 38 years

Bob, you are on the right track!!! I am slowly getting better at set-ups but really, you need to lap consistently (not necessarily fast) at first. The R2P guide is quite good and it is worth to take the time to go all the way through the steps in that spreadsheet to get a good base set up (disclaimer - I am a member of R2P too). But the default set-ups in Race07/GTRevo are very close. Adjust the gearing where needed, tweak the tire temps with the pressure, camber, and caster and you should be good to go at most tracks.

However, if you the car feels very loose or tight you will need to adjust the anti-roll bars and/or springs. Repeat above ......then go drink.:laugh2:

I actually will load a default setup, drop the front roll bar a few ticks, add some negative-toe and camber on the front wheels, positive toe and a little negative camber on the rear, full wing on front and back, and mess with gearing.

I don't think any of it works, but I can pretend it does :p

And I don't drink! That's right. I lay 11's down the pit straight sober :D

I've been usiong the old excel setup since GTR2. I have found as time goes on that ive drifted away from outright step by step and doing things together to find a balance from each change faster before moving on.

Stars of Canada Mini

Requested by Keith, coz he had a real good oppurtunity to race in the Stars of Canada Kart series.

These Sunday races are open to everyone normally but i think you need to be a trial member (if i remember well) to participate. If you want to join an event, you just post your sign-up in the Thread that is interesting you with the indications of that thread. Then you just go online and race with the people on the good date and hour. Pay attention to the timezones.

If i can help you more, just PM me. (I am french btw).
