The "What Are You Working On?" Thread

Unexpected :D

Back to work now after a nice week off, which means less 3D modelling  and more time web browsing .

Catching up on the 2017 MVRC season after the first 'race', nice to see our homeboy CAEdevice winning at Monaco (barely)!

Not sure how it all works, basically a laptime simulator using the aero data I think, you can see the lap in the clip below:

Looking forward to making some good progress on the model - rest assured we'll be sorting out that cockpit glass and those wheels! :roflmao: Pretty epic front end though :O_o::p

I see its a championship based solely on aerodynamics, not material science... how else would a front end like this either not weight a ton or not scrape/break apart under load. Same with the tires, probably running solid rubber or aluminium :roflmao:

Yep, I think the simulation runs equal weight, suspension, powertrain, tyres etc.

Was looking through some of the designs, this one has a claimed Cl of -7.7, wtf?!

what I see there is the potential to loose all front end downforce in a slight T1 brawl  And are wheelcovers or custom rims in general not allowed to be added? Make some propeller rims and suck the car to the ground at speed :p

Yup, me too! I think its just because its the high DF circuits first, starting with Monaco. The more reasonable DF cars looks far more realistic and appropriate.

The TZ is coming along nicely. Still lots of work to do, but I'm enjoying it and learning a lot about texturing and the import process. I spent the last couple of days trying to improve the unwrap and making the ambient occlusion.
I also did a first attempt at creating physics but I'm having trouble with that. So if anyone would like to help out with that feel free to message me.
