The "What Are You Working On?" Thread

Now : Render to file, and GO :)
Wait, you can render the intensity color to file? I think I made a screenshot.

Oh and btw, apparently Barber's not dead.

@Rigel There is "one click" function in cloud compare, I think in "display" tab, I don't remember exactly. But at first I had to select each tile, and set something (i don't remember what) to "intensity", and then maybe colors to grey, but I'm not sure. I don't have CC on this pc :/

But it was really simple.

I'm happy to see that Barber is not dead, I have never tried the track in any game, and I'm really looking forward to it :)

Meanwhile in Lithuania: Every respectable pit crew should have parkour master, or spiderman.

Hey, dude, how did you get there ?!

Turns out you can not place pit spawnpoint under drivable bridge

THIS THREAD IS AWESOME!

Guys (and girls), some (well all) of the stuff I see on here is epic. Seriously big thank you to all you modders, I'm seriously excited for the future of modding in AC... because of YOU FOLKS, we are lucky enough to get some seriously great content.

I am one hell of a happy bunny at the moment after reading this... especially those ST cars.. :) and Goodwood... and everything else too!!

Congrats guys, you lot fcuking rock!

I take it you don't venture over to these parts very often? ;)

This place seems as good as any to ask. Hows the formula Ford getting on @Stereo(I think its your project apologies if I got wrong). Last images it looked pretty much complete with one of the most detailed model seen so far.

No progress since last screenshots! :) It's got more left to do than it looks like and I haven't felt like working on it cause it's all kinda tedious stuff (unwrap for ao, but on about 70 different suspension parts). It's mostly being put off for silly small things, like I want to texture the bolt heads but then I'd have to manually map all the bolts to that texture.

I did get an h pattern shifter recently so I've been driving it a lot in the last week.

to lower the general level of expectation a little again, a screen from last night :roflmao:

btw, if I want to use a lut file for engine coast, is this the right way?
Code:
[HEADER]
VERSION=1
POWER_CURVE=power.lut            ; power curve file
COAST_CURVE=coast.lut ; coast curve. can define 3 different options (coast reference, coast values for mathematical curve, coast curve file)

[COAST_CURVE]
FILENAME=
it crashed when i had the coast.lut added to both sections

Currently working on finding out if this open source LMP1 designed by former Pescarolo and F1 engineer Nicolas Perrin can be brought to AC. The project started in 2013 and got recently revitalised when it was announced that a customer had bought two chassis with the intention to run them in WEC and Le Mans in 2018.

After researching a bit I found out that no one had attempted to get this car into a sim so I figured I'd contact Mr. Perrin to see if he was open to the idea and would potentially be interested in the project including sharing some info on the car. Well he is, we're currently figuring out how this could be done and what's needed to make it a worthwhile experience for us and most importantly the people who'll race the car in AC.

For now this is a UX generated 500k tris external shell without cockpit/drivetrain/suspension. I've separated the parts and created objects and am now working on optimizing it to get down to around 150k tris all in for the external. I imported the original .stl as a solid body so no objects or separations at all.

Drivetrain in RL will be non-hybrid for now but the car is designed to work with a traditional battery based electrical front motor.

Still super early stage here but I think worth a shot with the prospect of having this ready when the car is built in RL in October and tested in late 2017/early 2018.

Have you talked with Mr Perrinn?
Just curios has he shared any info about the ones who bought the pair for fia wec 2018..
Maybe he could tell engine or the main team?

Thats mainly becuse the car is a damn mystery.. sure its not a kolles mystery but its on the edge of a vaporwave..
Wich enginge, gearbox or suspention is going to be used?
I myself expected to see the car with a judd engine irl.
This project looks awsome! Fictional lmp1s are cool and could put up a decent fight against hybrides..

We're in contact yes but as far as info on who the customer is or what the engine will be that's info that he'll share soon as he said publicly. I don't have any kind of inside scoop. It's all open source so everything will be made known at some point.

For now it's just about starting to get an idea how this could be realized.

Only thing that's public is that it will be a non-hybrid and that the design can accommodate n/a and turbo engines. Just saw your edit, I'll quote Nicolas:

"The composites are going to be done by a company called ACE Technology, people we’ve been working with in the past. They are LMP and Formula One experts. The transmission is X-Trac. The engine I can’t talk about yet, but it will be announced before Le Mans."

So that's what the whole thing looks like :). Awesome looks and very interesting airflow design in the center and rear from what's visible. Combines a lot of great characteristics of past and present P1s. Thanks for sharing!

Its not exactly the same, this is the high downforce spec, we'll be getting the more efficient package which has more typical 'square' front wheelarches (shame, I quite like the rounded ones). Better looking IMO than todays LMP1 cars, especially without the large fin.

Hey guys!!

I'm working on some Ford Escort Mk1 Zakspeed (Original by Kunos) and i can't find a way to add the windscreen bar and can't find any skin with it. Is it impossible to have such thin gin this car?

Thanks in advance for any answer you can give me

havent done much ...after 2 months stopped due to work have done "tiny things"

did the grill in the bumper ,,, the second arm in the mirrors ... wheels changed a bit ....the front indicator was modeled and the "bumper light" also.... tweaks on the front and i dont know ....been killing some polys although does not seem that much ofc

I kind of hate tweaking ....makes me wanna just delete the whole thing and redo it again but ....its all due to learning new things ...but at this stage its just better to keep going and maake a different project i guess like a E46 M3 CSL
and a render

Ofc some objects still missing textures as im still learning how to make them (like the lights)

Sh****t man that is one beautiful model or a so under appreciated BMW:).

I can relate to your 'delete it all and start over' sentiment. Have had it many times with my F-14 and actually have deleted many parts and redone them and never regreted it. Never the whole thing of course :).

I guess this is the E36 M3 GT (given the rear spoiler and front lip). Is there any way to get a glimpse at this without the spoiler on the rear lid? Either way thanks for sharing! Really cool project!
