The SimFeedback-AC DIY Motion Simulator thread

Hey guys. Thought I’d create a thread for those taking the plunge into this brilliant DIY project..
I will be starting mine soon and I know there are others thinking about it.. so feel free to share your knowledge and experiences so we can all enjoy this platform to its full potential. A huge thanks to the developers who have really knocked this one out of the park!

For all the internals for the actuator contact Amy - skye@ntl-bearing.com
She can supply everything you need. Just remind her you want the ends of the shafts chamfered and make sure she sends the right sized ball screw - we have had a couple of issues reported. She is very helpful though and the cost is pretty good.

Huge thanks to @RowanH for writing a comprehensive user guide which can be accessed here - https://www.rowanhick.com/sfx-100-build-and-running-guide

In addition, @anton_Chez has contributed a list of post numbers for some of the important settings etc..

I will try to keep this page updated with links to source the parts in other parts of the world. Just post whatever links you have and i'll add them here.

Please note: Not all the parts listed below are essential for the project. For the essential parts refer to the original shopping list.

Hi All,

Currently building my SFX150 actuators (from NTL) and was wondering, for those running the servos on 110v, can anyone give me an idea how many amps they're using? Trying to figure out if I'll need to run the servos on a separate circuit, or if I'll be able to keep it on one!

Cheers
Ryan

Simfeedback and Simhub uses the same port for dirt 2.0. You have to port forward in simhub. I've never gotten around to do it myself but here's a screenshot from the discord. Maybe someone else can chime in, or google port forwarding in simhub.

I can't find a proper step by step explanation on Google and the discord photo doesn't make much sense, everything assumes some former knowledge or understanding

Got it working on mine. Open SimHub, click on Dirt 2.0 game then click on game config on top right corner. In "game telemetry UPD port" put 20777. Check the box beside "forward UDP packets" and put port number 20778. If it says on the screen game is properly configured your done with SimHub. If it says game is not configure click on configure game now. Open SimFeedback folder and look for folder named provider. Inside that folder look for file called "CMTelemetryConfig.txt" open it and change port to 20778. If that file inside provider folder doesn't exist here is mine. Just copy to provider folder. SimFeedback and Simhub should both work with Dirt.

Just checked and even the today released Forza Motorsport is working without any problems with SimFeedback.

As of right now there's not a single race title that is not supported by SimFeedback. With the current titles available, new users can have years of fun and enjoyment.

There will probably be a solution for WRC also ( hopefully ) so there's no immediate need for switching to a thanos controller for me. Maybe a thanos controller in the future, time will tell
the wrc 2023 works with simfeedback and spacemokey profile.

Yes it works really good.
But..... SimFeedback has not one but two providers for EA WRC.

A native unfiltered provider for SimFeedback has been developed also. It works really good, i have been beta testing it for weeks now.

SimFeedback users with access to the discord forum can get it right now. The info on how to get the new developed provider can be found on the WRC23 topic in the SimFeedback Discord.

I just tried to downloading spacemonkey as administrator and it installed. It shows the app being installed but there's no way to get to the interface. It's not in the start menu so I tried uninstalling and reinstalling same thing. I want to use it for motion on wreckfest.

I have a strange bug. When Steam is running, the SimFeedback Assetto Corsa profile has Telemetry (green dot), even though AC is not running yet. Pitch Degree is -0.13 and Roll Degree is -0.92 (it jerks on startup). The other profiles have no Telemetry until the game actually starts. It's very annoying to have jerky and skewed rig. What could be the cause? What can I do to debugging?

You could start by trying a fresh install of SimFeedback and see if the problem is still there.
Just install it in a different folder and copy the SimFeedback.xml

Make sure Simhub is not running in the background and try the game without content manager.
