ACC The 2.4hrs of Spa Special - Saturday 1st April 2023

Assetto Corsa Competizione Racing Club event
Sorry to see you pressed ESC at the start Jan. I had my brain in lap 1 survival before I could hit enter and see the message. As everyone made it through lap 1 ok I thought it would be unfair to restart, sorry dude.

That was a tough race! The pace from Andrew and Will was mega. After a few laps I could almost hear the Ferrari style radio message "Will is faster than you....." He got a run on me so I let him by and into the distance. Only lucked into 3rd position because of the pit stop miss hap from the other side of the Team Lego garage...I didn't pay them off honest!

Congrats to Ricardo on a race win well deserved with a cracking 1 stop by the sounds of it?

Shout out to Andre for the side by side racing at the end of the Kemmel straight, that was spot on.

Also a massive well done to anyone that got blue flags, everyone was brilliant at letting me past.

Great race guys, that was a really tough one!

Ok, very weel done to the Podium Ricardo, Andrew and Chris!!!

And great drive by everyone on track, this was an awesome event!!!

From my side i was satisfied with my drive in total.
Not fast but a good cosistencey and no "big" moments, except 2 times while lapping it got close.
Not do good was my 2nd pit entry, a fraction to fast, lost concentration. The SG30 was totally unnecessary but well deserved.:whistling:
In the end it made no difference in place, the gap to the next was to far.

Very likely that this was my last race with the Lexus.
I love the car but it is not fast enough compared to other cars i like, tried and drove the last weeks.
I dicded to to this race as a farewell, but now its time to move on. The tyre wear is to high and drops the laptime after 2/3rd of a 60min. stint. Than the fuel consumption is alsot high, no need to think about a one stop with this car. A bit sad, but Kunos made the BOP as it is and i don't believe with the next update it will improve. (and my ears will be satisfied without the Lexus sound...)
I will see if one of the new cars will catch my interest.

All in all a great event and many thanks to Chris for organizing and Johann for the skins!

Had a great race, I took it easy at the start to avoid any collisions. I think I seen Johann hit the grass while we were in combat. I’m guessing it was due to a little oversteer?

From there I manage to get back to Chris, I think we were similarly paced until the tyre wear kicked in. From that point I was able to pass then start to stretch a gap. I can only assume it was tyre wear cause the gap was opening at a few of the fast corners. I was able to run them flat out until lap 20 or so.

I did have a sketchy moment on lap 25, almost had to change ma breeks! So decided to switch it to 3TC :roflmao:

Pit stop came and it was perfect both Chris and I must have had the exact same pit time.

Stretching the gap further and getting the time down to around 8 seconds from Andrew then I seen him pit. Must have been around 10 laps before I had to pit and I was itching to find out where he was in relation to my pit exit… Unfortunately… I decided to fill the car back to with 109L and fit a spanky new set of tyres….

Not really, I just thought it would select pit 2 because pit1 was done. I should have paid more attention, I was too busy looking at the time table.

Ended up screwing up my race but the battle with me and Andre was epic, unfortunate end though as I hit him at Bus Stop. Too eager to get by!

Grats to Ricardo, Andrew’s 1 stop bluff came back to haunt him! Hehe

No bluff here, I was doing a one stop up to literally 20 seconds before the start of the race! I just wasn’t 100% convinced. In the end there was nothing much between the two strategies.

I do hate fiddling around with tyre temps when driving, hopefully, one day, a game will come with an in built race engineer to take the guesswork out.

You don’t see Lewis Hamilton counting on his fingers in the middle of a race!

I was doing that trying to figure out if my last splash and dash was ok. Ended up with 10L left in the tank but the extra second didn't change anything luckily. Trying to calculate this stuff after 2 hrs of racing is a pain in the backside.

Well, I was a bit more precise than that. Despite my major crash and 2 pit stops, I managed to finish the race with 3.7L of fuel, just a bit less than one lap extra.

After the last race, I had to work on my setup. Found a ballance by fixing a few issues with it, and wanted this race to be about consistency and no mistakes, which I'm happy to have done.

I was going to keep it simple and split the race in 3 stints.
However, I saw some calculations on here and decided to check the difference.

For me, it was a 1s a lap difference to the 2 stop and, I had to push, potentially causing more mistakes and costing consistency.
So from then on, it was a one stop.

Quali went horrible and I couldn't have a clean lap. I new it was going to be a long one, so I kept it positive.

Great racing with André, and then Oliver in the first 10 laps or so.
Then I could see the leaders times and set my own pace, managing to keep it consistent within the 2:20s.
Was switching back and forth between Mode 1 and 2 and decided to stretch the first half.
I saw everyone ahead of me go for the 2 stop and thought maybe I had a chance...

Then I managed the second stint the same way, using a bit more of mode 1.

The lapped cars were exemplary! Thank you for reducing my anxiety!

Finally got a win with this group, which I'm chuffed about!
Congrats to everyone for some good old endurance race!
Congrats to Andrew and Chris for on the podium.

I want to apologize for my rage-quit in yesterday's race. After many hours of practice, I felt really confident in terms of strategy and setup. Going through Eau Rouge/Raidillon felt really good in practice, but when it comes to racing, I just can't handle this corner combination in this car. Again, really sorry for quitting after crashing the second time in Raidillon, I was really frustrated.

And i thought it was me in Front of you that was the reason you spun. I hope i did no thing wrong when you did some pressure behindert me. Sorry to hear, but some Day are just thst way.

I thought that they made the AMG better with his behaviour over the curbs last year. I was looking to use the AMG last year for the Serie but after the race in Monza and some sudden spins after touching the curbs i moved on.

Happens to the best of us dude. I've been impressed with your speed in the AMG, it's literally the one car in the SIM I can't get to grips with. I find it too sensitive (and that's coming from someone who tends to be smooth with inputs) I'd love to drive it but have zero confidence that it will keep facing the right way. For a car that is very customer focused IRL and easy to drive (so I hear) it feels weird in ACC.

Hey, don't sweat it mate. We had a nice battle durong the first laps. About midway into the race, I spun out as well and crashed hard which had me to wait at the pits for 4.5 mins having me stone dead last from 8th. Thankfully I managed to get back that position.
