Just a note to those using the TM SF1000, you can make it work with rF2 + my Tool in the same way, it worked earlier with ACC and AMS2.

I.e.:
- Make the SF1000 connect to your local network and note the IP address in the wheel
- In the Tool, setup UDP redirect (Settings --> Network Settings) to send out data in 'F1 2020' format, set IP address to be SF1000's IP address (visible on wheel's settings screen) and set IP to 20777.
- Restart the Tool
- Now when you drive rf2 and the Tool is on, you should receive the data also to SF1000.

Cheers.
Edit: Sorry, just saw you have an entire YT channel!

Is there perhaps a video or tutorial with pictures that shows how to get your tool working with the SF1000 and rF2?

I would very much appreciate it, as I am a busy father and time is always short for such things. Thank you so much for making this tool, I really enjoy my SF1000 wheel in AMS2 and would like to do the same in rF2 (and LMU now as well!).

Any plans for a Le Mans Ultimate version?

Yeah, I think the YT video on the SF1000 covers most things.

One note, if you use the latest version with F1 23 UDP redirect format, then you have to have updated SF1000 to the latest firmware.

For LMU, the current system should work, i.e. copy the rF2 plugin to LMU plugin directory and then start the Tool in rF2 mode. You just need to set the UDP redirect to send the data to the SF1000. If LMU comes out of early access, then I will do a "proper version" for it.

Cheers.

Iko Rein updated Telemetry Tool for rFactor 2 with a new update entry:

Telemetry Tool for rFactor 2

Version 14.2 is here.

This is now a "combined" 14.0, 14.1 and 14.2 release.

Notable new rF2 related additions in these 3 versions:
  • Tyre load + ride height data added (+ saved to lapdata files)
  • Tyre coloring added to many places
  • Fixed some issues with laptime accuracy
  • RaceStart data + window added to rF2 mode
Other notable additions
  • Map in Circle format. I have seen something like this in real pitwall, so wanted to just add it to my Tool too.
  • Math...

Any LMU users here? I would like to hear if Tool works automatically with LMU in rF2 mode.
Cheers.
Hi, I tried your tool today with LMU, installation-wize, it works flawlessly... performance-wize, it's complicated...
It lags like crazy.
The UI is unresponsive. The track doesn't align with the cars. When I put the game in pause (even close it), the telemetry tool is still showing the cars moving on the track ;) minutes after...
It could be that the DLL reads slowly and make the UI locks behind forever.
As is, it seems unusable :(

Thank you for the note.

The signs you describe, point out some "bad data" or "bad behaviour" on the Tool with the game's data. Normally the "super lag" happens, when there are some "uncaught" stuff or e.g. continuous lap changes/resets due to not handling properly the aforementioned data.

I am planning to buy LMU next week to do testing and to see, what needs to be adjusted in the Tool to make it work with LMU.

Cheers.

Cool... LMU is really really good. It's a bit tough though, and the telemetry is really lacking but it's "a still in progress game". It's the new trend now :D (Reinsport, Battlefield, XDefiant) it's half cooked but they serve it anyway, and you have to complain to get it done like you want :D it's not so bad as you may get it top notch in the end but it takes forever, so not everyone will be patient enough, and move on next door :(

By the way, since then, I installed one of your concurent tool, sorry was still desperately looking why the heck my car and tyres don't like each other ;) so in their how-to they were explaining that you have to play with a bitmask to unsubscribe to certain data flow, I didn't touch it when I installed yours. So now that you gave a possible explanation, I kinda wonder if that could simply be the issue.

As you can see, I have your dll, but also other ones installed, hope it's not another potential issue.

I found from GitHub rF2SharedMemoryMapPlugin
  • It is now possible to configure which buffers get updated and which don't. This is done via UnsubscribedBuffersMask value in the CustomPluginVariables.json file. To specify buffers to unsubscribe from, add desired flag values up.
Telemetry = 1, Scoring = 2, Rules = 4, MultiRules = 8, ForceFeedback = 16, Graphics = 32

So, to unsubscribe from Multi Rules and Graphics buffers set UnsubscribedBuffersMask to 40 (8 + 32).
Mine was 160 by default so 10100000, so Graphics and most likely another flag undocumented above "/

The issue was "somewhere else" and I have now put out a beta, which has support for LMU. Check your PM for the instructions on 1) download the beta and 2) how to make it work with LMU.

Cheers.

Thanks, I'll keep you posted...

Btw, I've just read Motorsport Games is actually on the brink of bankruptcy, they laid off 39% of their staff :( looking for a buyer, which might mean LMU has sadly not a happy future... I hope you didn't spend too much :( I did, bought the whole package :( will play until I couldn't, but it's sad
