This looks like an amazing tool, thank you! I am having trouble getting ghost opponent lap data to save however. I have v14.2 rev 3212. Did a clean install, set the 'which opponent laps to save' to be 'Ghost(s) in TT/TA' (and left 'save every nth oppoPacket' equal 2). I drive a lap in time trial with a ghost selected, and after which, I can see my lap data in the UI and see the csv data file for my lap in the lapdata/ams2 directory, but the opponent_laps/ams2 directory is still empty. Is there another step I am missing to set this up? Thank you again!

I need to test this. However, it is normal, that the ghost lap does not get saved on the first lap, but you have to driver 2-3 laps for the ghost to save.

Cheers.

Hello again,

So did bit more of a deep dive into the thing and it turns out that 1) only one AMS2 ghost is saved and 2) as noted, the Ghost will only be saved after 2nd lap.

I have fixed this in 14.3 (plan to make release, when AMS2 1.6 is out), so that the Tool will save 1 - 3 ghosts, depending how many ghosts there are. The fastest ghost will be used for comparison, if you select that for the BLUE line.

Thank you for notifying me on this.

Cheers.

Thank you so much for the update. I was not able to get the one ghost to save after driving several laps in time trial mode. But maybe I have something set up wrong on my end. I will experiment some more. I am able to save opponent laps from a race however. I will try the 14.3 update when AMS2 1.6 is released. Thank you again for your work on this!

I can't seem to get it to work, I did everything right I'm sure but the Telemetry tool will just not show *any* data, currently trying to get it to work with timetrials, using Shared memory (Project Cars 2) and Project Cars 2 telemetry with UDP refresh rate of 1.

Love the Telemetry Tool. I teach Automotive to secondary school students and I use 4 Sims running AMS2 for the students to learn the basics of driving. I have used the Telemetry tool on the pc they are driving on previously (love the software), but the game freezes when they attempt to change the screen or move the data. So I have 4 seperate laptops to run the Telemetry Tool, but how do I get it to receive the data onto the laptop?

Thanks in advance

David

Hello,

I replied to your PM, but in general you can use the Tool's UDP/TCP redirect to send data from the game computer to the "engineer computer". In the help (press F1 in the Tool) there is some instructions, how to do that. If you need more help, please just reply to my PM, I sent you.

Cheers.

I have same question. If someone can help us, it would be good

Is the issue that there is no data or something else?

In short, you don't need to enable and UDP anymore, as the Tool works pretty well without the UDP data. (You will miss drivers' nationalities and online rating data and some other non-relevant info).

The typical install goes like this.
- Unzip the packet to a location in your computer.
- Start the Tool with the runWin_AMS2.bat or with runWinLauncher.bat. With launcher, select the AMS2 + enable relay (checkbox checked). Now press launch in the launcher. (The runWin_AMS2.bat starts the relay automatically).
- Now start AMS2 within 2 minutes, because the relay will close after two minutes if no connection is made. IF the relay closes, you can restart it with the run_ams2relay.bat.
- There is no need to edit files/ports/etc. The default settings should work in most cases.

Cheers.
