IMPORTANT!!

If you have any issues getting the game to run, please make sure to consult the troubleshooting thread and all the recommendations in the opening post.

For the new STEERING ROTATION feature introduced with v1.50:

All Logitech & Thrustmaster wheels with adjustable rotation should be working with this feature. Fanatec wheels should too, except for the V2 wheelbase which is still in development.
If you have any of the supported wheels, it is recommended you set Enable Custom Steer Rotation to NO from OPTIONS > CONTROLS, and let the game customize the appropriate rotation range for each car:
Wheel_Rotation.jpg

If Enable Custom Steer Rotation is set to NO, the rotation range below it has no effect so you may ignore it.

Some cars will also allow some range for adjusting rotation from the garage menu - ex. F-Extreme is defaulted to 360º, but you can increase that 450º from the garage. Others (like the Lancers) are fixed at 900º.

Logitech users should make sure "Allow game to adjust settings" is ticked in your profiler:

In case you do not have a controller with adjustable rotation, OR if your steering wheel is not yet supported by this feature, you should set Enable Custom Steer Rotation to YES, and define how much rotation range you have in your controller in the setting below - the game should then work same as before (with any adjustment per car done manually both here & controller profiler) and STEER ROTATION SETTING in GARAGE1 menu will have no actual effect.

Main changelog for v1.51:

Track:
  • Adds Velo Cittá Club Day layout (from "Acelerados" TV show);

Features & Fixes:

  • Fixed bug with GSC Config crashing from Steam;
  • Fixed gridedit command for multiplayer;
  • Reverted to pre-v1.50 trackmap solution (Numpad 0 to toggle off/on/rotating);
  • Adjusted FFB values as a compromise between previous 2 versions - realfeel values from v1.38 & v1.50 are also included in RealFeelPluginv138.ini (more overall force & clipping) and RealFeelPluginv150.ini(lower forces at lighter loads & less clipping), so users can copy & paste settings according to their own preferences if not satisfied with default values;
  • Fixed garage steering rotation setting not being saved with setups;
  • Forced reset rotation range to previous profile setting with Thrustmaster wheels after quitting the sim;
  • Changed base HUD text color from yellow to white;
  • Fixed DRS rules and activation points at Interlagos, Spielberg, Kansai;
  • Reintroduced track tire compound options for F-Extreme & F-Reiza, and fixed issue which allowed AI to choose unauthorized compound in pitstops;
  • Fixed error in some series not allowing basic setup adjustments when running a fixed setup race;
  • Fixed SuperV8 graphics glitch near the exhaust from long distance;
  • Improved SuperV8 AI handling;
  • Minor physics revisions for Metalmoro MR18;
  • Updated Lancer R & RS sounds in attempt to minimize audio clipping;
  • Added pit limiter & onboard starter to Lancer R & Lancer RS;
  • Updated spanish & french localization.

Please keep discussions and questions about v1.51 here - if you´re not sure about a problem you´re encountering, this is the place to discuss it.

If you have a bug to report please use the v1.50 / v1.51 bug report thread. (make sure o check the opening post).

Thanks for everything Renato, especially the MR-18 stuff we discussed. ;)

With respect to FFB changes what has changed since 1.38? Is it purely in the RealFeel settings we can personally edit or is there some under the hood stuff that is beyond user customization?

I ask only because I felt like 1.50 annihilated in the FFB much of my sense of heroic confidence in the FV12 I'd developed. I hadn't tried reverting to old settings yet before this update. I was going to be perfectly willing to adapt but if its just a case of reverting to the 1.38 settings in the realfeel.ini for that car alone that's what i want to do. However I know how hard it can be to judge these kinds of changes without having two game versions to drive so knowing if its only realfeel settings would make my process simpler and keep me from being paranoid I'm having the placebo effect.

There´s been physics updates too, and that reflect on the FFB and how the car handle, and so will the steering ratio if you weren´t using something close to the default one you have now.

I suggest you do have a look and try v1.38 values for the V12 though, it´s just one value you can change back and forth again to see if that does it for you or at least write that off as the cause for the difference you´re perceiving.

My perception was that before with those loss of traction spins under power, you know standard V12 stuff that scares the normies away from it, would come on very snappy in the FFB. However now my perception is like its a more gentle progressive onset that based on my previous feeling seems just behind the car's behavior, so I was used to hard wheel response to match the instant loss of traction, a very immediate one I could pour lock into and feel it ease off back under control. With the new effect its more like "oh my wheel is telling me something..." and by the time the force ramps up I'm already spinning. Putting lock into it then feels like I'm guessing and correcting less on feel and more on pattern recognition.

For all I know this is a more realistic effect, and I am using a DFGT so my FFB is just about as weak as it gets compared to most people's which could simply create the issues. I do know that my wheel ratio from the past was in line with whats permitted with the new automatic adjustment so that's not the issue.

It may just be that I have to deal with it and learn anew. The good news is that in 1.50 I annihilated my previous best time at Kansai by more than a second so its not like I lost the ability to drive it or feel it, just perhaps I can't man handle it back under control like before.

Thanks as always for your input.

Hi Reiza. I have just updated to V1.51 via Vsync non Steam and my FFB behaves strange now. Undrivable now unfortunately. Wheel seems to load up real heavy if u stere side to side quickly but then suddenly loses all ffb force. Hard to describe but except for broken! I use G27.

Does the FFB falls completely? And during the same run while it was being heavy?
Maybe if you assign a button for Reset FFB on controller options it can restore everything back to normal.
Also, do you have all the Damping, Centering Force and else at 0% on the Logitech Profiler?

Hey. I run everything as per Reiza settings. Logitec profiler at strength 100 and 0 everything else with allow game to adjust settings ticked.. No damping. I just deleted my profile and created a new one and that seems to have fixed it. First time Ive had an issue in all the updates I've gone through! I'll do a bit more testing. Cheers! :)
