Assetto Corsa Racing Club event
I think I hit a barrier during practice (maybe even more than one). It's saying I had 5 incidents in practice, 1 in qually, and none in the race.
I am pretty certain I didn't hit any cars at all in any of the sessions, so I have to assume that "incidents" can mean other things than hitting cars.
So, my guess is it's either being waaaay off track (I was off track enough to get a penalty during the race but... no incidents) or hitting barriers. Just guesswork though.

OK guys, I will tke a look tomorrow at the replay. Remember that we a re usinng our real names in game, so if somebody uses a tag on RD, we will not be able to identify them. That's why we can see real names in the sign up thread.

OK Peter Bustraan is listed as a member in the RD group on SGP, so he is an RD member. @Neilski could we find out who this is please so that @Medilloni can get in touch via PM or make an incident report.
Thanks.

Gents, this was an RD club racing event and subject to RD rules. If there were people on the server, who are not Premium members, we need to know. If you saw something which leads you to believe that the password system was not working, please post on the SGP forum and include a link to the event.

If you saw somebody breaking the rules, please bring this to my attention via PM. The guys who know me well, will know that I'm not at all happy about this. Let's get to the bottom of it and sort things out before next Monday.

Thanks

BTW thank you all for your support tonight. I will do my best to repay you by doing what I can to address any issues you have.

Cheers.

The red car was me. I was coasting the corner and the other car turned in and I tried to tuck in behind, I was a bit wary of braking too heavy as I had cars behind and mid corner, unfortunately he came across my front end which span him into you. I didn't stop as I had a few cars right behind me.
All good Robert, as far as I'm concerned you where innocent in that accident :)
Also, while I'm not really looking to point fingers for the punt, I am for the fact that while I clearly got severely hampered by the punt, noone followed the rule that states you must slow down if you punt someone into a spin / off track.
Honestly, I'm not even mad about it, it had little to no effect on my finishing position as I was slow as a sloth anyways, I just want people to follow the rules. :)

Edit: Grammar... :D

Stared a thread on SGP under bugs regarding the penalty system not sure if it's the right place for it

Regardless of the growing pains of SGP this was a lot of fun. And although I don't like Brands, with this car it went very well. I could never dream to be only 1.1 s behind @Chris Down in qually. And seeing my lap times I could have had a chance on the podium if not for a penalty (off track in lap 1) and some misfortune with blue flag cars. In free laps I was gaining on the car that finished 3rd so...
I finally found a setup that matches my driving style and with which I feel confident. Quite a difference with the sunday event where I tried the 488 for the first time.
The only thing that keeps haunting me with the Escort is that I sometimes forget that I'm in a RHD car and miss the apex in some turns.

So a big thanks you for @Denis Betty for organising and a normal thanks you for all for joining :D .

Rant number 2,
just looked at the replay, qualified with a full tank of fuel. I was in a good place behind Denis, Han, Neil for a really good race, only to have it all scuppered in the first few corners.
Had been looking forward to this event too, qualified perfectly for a good race, this is an all to familiar thing of late.
Rant number 2 finished.:(

@PorDallas

I assume you mean replay, normally Chris does one, I also think it was not a happy race for him too. but he may still have a replay. Failing that someone might still have a replay that you can load into the documents/assetto corsa/replay folder. I deleted mine out of frustration.:(

Perhaps Han can supply a replay.

OK I need to say this very gently, as I don't wanna upset anybody. The penalty system that RD uses in club racing, is what sets us apart from public servers IMO. We have the Golden Rule and that means consequences for bad/unfair driving. It's not perfect, as it requires the member who has been wronged, to go to the effort of filing an incident report, making a video and just generally having to make a fuss and risk bad feeling. Like I say, it's not perfect, but it's what we have.

I have agreed to migrate Monday night historic club racing over to SGP because I see the potential and believe that it's a fantastic idea. That said, I think it's gonna need us to work together, in order to get it to a place where it works for the majority of people.

Now to @Kek700 . I'm sorry to hear that you're having a run of being punted in T1. I know exactly how that feels mate. Normally, I wait until an incident report is filed. If somebody is regularly breaking the Golden Rule, I will sometimes encourage another member to file an incident report. If they do it to me, I will (if I feel the situation warrants it) file an incident report myself. In this case, I will check the replay later today, If I see transgression of the rules, I will be sending out PMs, asking people to be sure to stay within the rules in future and warning them that further transgressions may lead to a race ban. Please can everybody understand though. This will take up lots of my personal time. I'll never get that time back, so in future, if you want clean racing, it really is up to you guys to help me out. If somebody is spoiling the racing in our club, please do your bit and file a report. This is how we keep wreckers away from our racing.

Sorry for the long post. I sincerely hope that we have a clean race next week.

Cheers. :)

Did you guys end up having a full grid or not? I couldn't register as a reserve driver. It didn't seem like anyone had left so I couldn't register for the race.

I don't know if you would call that a bug or maybe a feature that has yet to be added sgp...
It's a good point Jason and something that I think warrants a mention on SGP forums. I don't have time to post all of this stuff myself, and actually, I think it would have more effect coming from non-staff members.

I will say though, that the devs have a big list of stuff to do, so it's up to them I guess which stuff gets addressed first.

Edit: :ninja:'d. Well I think that just shows how important this thing is to Bram and the devs.

PM sent

Good point. My screenshots imply that 21 of us started the race, so you'd have had a spot but only (I think) if they had pulled out before the whole session started.

I just like to sometimes vent my frustration with people who do needlessly stupid things and spoil people’s race, not sufficiently bad to warrant a complaint.
I am fully aware these situations cannot really be policed.
Started with a last minute dive bomb for a corner that was clearly mine, got hit off the circuit, then to be hit again by someone within inches of my rear wheel. Why would you do this on very cold tyres on the third corner of a race. Cannot people have some patience and least wait for the race to start to unfold.

It’s the unnecessary stupid things that really annoy me.

I really like the mid field racing for many reasons, but and it is a big but, it comes with some real problems of survival that the the front three do not usually have to contend with.

Once the first lap is over common sense usually returns and I have no complaints at all with racedepartment race structure from lap 2 onwards. It just the madness that seems to occur on the first lap of the race.

Most of the time, I can, once into the race make allowances for them, but surrounded by five cars madly contesting for as many place gains they can make
before the first three corners is not easy to deal with.

Of late I cannot use starting at the back of the field anymore, people are now so much quicker, I even try and pick a sweet spot in qualifying, when I can, all to no avail unfortunately.

The end.

It's sad but I have to agree with you. When starting in the midfield I have often been hit in the first turns from behind ending up last because I have to wait before I can savely return on track. it's better to start last then you don't have a gap and you can avoid the mess in the first turns. After lap 1 I usually have gained 5 to 6 places and I'm not so frustrated. But it comes with a cost of not battling with the guys who have similar pace:(. Most of the races in which I started in the back my result was not more then 2 or 3 positions lower then I would have normally finished. Next race I will be starting last also because I don't have enough confidence yet in myself in the 488.
But I bet that after EauRouge/Radillion in lap 1 I will have won at least 4 places :D . That is if I won't go off myself of course:p.
