Assetto Corsa Racing Club event
Don´t be, Ernie,

You´re right about it.

It´s time to aknowledge that our series has atracted the "unsavoury element" of the "frigging aliens" and happily battle away for a midfield "win"

The time for me hoping for a podium or even a win or two are over even though I´ve improved quite a bit in the last year.

1. so have you, the competion is getting fiercer (and I love it ;))

2. the frigging aliens who have migrated into our series (as it is theyr right, were open to all) will make a podium neigh impossible for the moderately gifted simracer no matter how much time and resources he put into it.

But someone has to drive for Haas or it would be even more boring to whatch the race:roflmao:
( and silently hope for a ton of luck as even the top dogs cock it up on a regurelar basis :D)

Keep on trucking Carsten

On that note,

momentarily my swear jar bursts in the seems as I try to install ACTI to try and switch to Motec!!
I figured out that the W firewall stunted the trigger app, that should work now.
But ACTI doesn´t show up in CM (or vanilla AC for that matter) so i can´t activate It??

Any ideas??

Thanks Carsten

Here is the setup i used, I ran the wings at 2 front 0 rear. i also have difficulty driving this car and found the low down force setup barely any harder to drive than a high down force setup at Baku. The corners are all lower speed corners where the down force is not doing much to help. Fulvio is the only alien here as his consistency is amazing along with his pace, I always make far to many mistakes.

You should not give up Carsten, I sometimes get wins and podiums, it is always down to being consistent, not taking risks, and the aliens having a bad day, or should I say not turning up:D:D
I always get a few laps under my belt, see where I am, anyalise the race from my pace and those around me and then look for opportunities, even though an overtake is on it does not mean I am going for it.
I try and make a reason for every thing, even Wednesday race, I thought should I take a risk and re-overtake Allan.
Knowing I was taking a pointless risk, yes go for it, you may never get this opportunity again. And so it proved to be my downfall. But I thought about it.
Excepting the consequence.
:roflmao::roflmao:
I can guarantee an alien will make mistakes when under pressure, they are only immune with a 2 second a lap advantage.

PS you need to explain better, I just loaded into the AC, follow the instructions carefully. When using CM it was automatically there.
Don't forget to tick the Acti app!

I used Rasmus very extensive MoTeC, what ever it is called, thing.
Really very comprehensive.
I can help more when I am on my PC

I followed the instructions, everyting is where it should be, ACTI app is ticked in CM.

Full Stop there, the apps don´t appear on the race menue.

Right now I give up frustrated.

Maybe Rasmus will gift me his workspace also?

But that is Future Carstens problem, have a good night

And I´m one step further to blasting this frigging PC into space )

Finally I can see the ACTI apps in AC drive page ( the manual wasn´t completely helpfull, they showed up AFTER entering the path manually in the config, not entering the path in the apps in AC drive page. Yotube tutorials be thanked)

But now the apps won´t connect ( or more precisely, stay connected) :

Going for the basement now , I must have some surplus dinamite somewhere

Newsflash:

out of reasons incomprehensable to Man it´s now working.
Threats with high voltage violence and several restarts may have worked their magic

But now i find the included worksheet severely lacking :(

Could one or more of the Motec using Gents here share a worksheet that actually reveals pertinent information, especially to developethe suspension of the car?

thanks so much Carsten

You were right, the workbooks were "broken" because the channel names were not the same.

I´ve edited some and get data now, not sure how usefull this will be.

Up till now Z1 Analyzer is much more intuitive and doesn´t need fiddling with properties
I can already see that Motec can go much more indepth and will deliver better insights, but you have to work for it and make all the worksheets yourself.

(zu Hülfe, @RasmusP :D)

Making a track map to check your lines seems even more a Pita than in Z1.

The fHeck did I just read on this page :D

You might've saved some dynamite and defibrillator charges (high voltage threats) by calling me in earlier, lol.

I'll send you my workspaces after dinner :)
Really no need to rename anything or whatever.
Only thing you might need to do is to download/update the latest Motec i2 pro version. It's free
(and btw I don't know how legal it is to include it in the acti download...)

Iirc you can "transfom" old workspaces when using a newer Motec version but I'm not sure if you can also downgrade them.

Rasmus, you did offer, but i didn´t take you up on it :(

In the end with a lot of research (web and Youtube) there were two problems:

ACTI didn´t show up in CM because I had to manually enter the path into the cfg, contrary to the setup guide

And then I had to handstart ACTI before AC recognized it and ACTI started recording.

After that I only had to realise that older workbooks don´t work books  because the channel names are different.

I got a base installation working now but I´m looking forward to your workbooks hoping that i don´t have to figure out howto trackmaps and suspension histograms.

Bon Apetit, Carsten

Bon Apetit, Carsten

Sorry, took a "bit" longer... But here it is.
I changed a few things (only in the driver category!), so everyone who's using my "July2022" workspace might want to have a look at this one :)

I don't remember where I got the base workspace for this from but it contains A LOT.
I mostly only use the "Driver" category (top left, Category 1).
For the rest I just plaster my whole monitor with the different apps and record the session via OBS.
Motec sadly doesn't correctly show camber, ride heights, aero information etc etc.

btw, I don't really record track borders lines. I just compare laps via pressing F3 for the delta/"variance" (click into any of the time/distance graphs, then press F3) and then compare the lines and use the faster one.

When comparing laps, I guess you know this:
The variance fluctuates quite a lot when you, e.g. brake later but have a worse exit. So you always need to compare from braking point to braking point.

To make this post complete, here's my "Setup building & recording" layout in AC on my 3440x1440 monitor:
