Assetto Corsa Racing Club event
Server is loading extremely slow for me
>Rest of Inet is fine
I'll kill the practice server for the multiclass. Maybe that helps. But there's also a rFactor race going which I can't stop.

EDIT: server has stopped now.

I am so pissed off, My first race was crap. Ok. it happens. Second race i am running in 1st place with Fulvio behind me and holding my own for now, driving smooth with a nice gap and my F********G VR headset goes blank and i have lost tracking. This has to be the worst experience i have had in a long time. Gutted is not enough to explain how i feel right now. I am away for the week and after this weeks racing it cannot come soon enough...cheers guys

When I get knocked off, I go all old, really struggle to get it all together, especially when I hate the car and do not have much love for the circuit. No ones fault, just the way it is.
I managed to bin it three times in half a lap, got jam in between two walls, it took very little persuasion to dump out of the race, especially as I did not have enough pace to do much about the lost time., with a 25 min race it was a no brainier.
:roflmao::roflmao:
I had one good race, so that will do.:)

Sorry guys,

didn't bail out, Vodafone crapped the bed:poop:

Edith:

VF is back now, but I´m still not happy with loosing the second heat.

Heat one started shite too as I once again was punted in T1L1 and had to commence racing dead last (notice the problem here?)

Though I could recover some positions from freebies and even some overtakes I still lost out from the quali.

Not happy

No practice for this one, wasn’t able to make it for this race, so I thought. Last minute possibility to join the race, so quite unprepared and not set up properly. Some can go fast and safe without preparation, but not me. I felt like a pinball in a machine for that kind of games.

Got a semi-decent qualy time and got off the startline quite well, but had to do some evasive manoeuvres to avoid spinning cars in front in T1 and met a backwards facing Carsten a first time. Further on up the road, me trying to stay out of his claws, I had an over-enthousiastic exit in one of the last corners, spinning out and looking Carsten in the eyes again  . Rest of race one was doing quite okay stints between fck-ups with the walls, delivering me a P4 on the starting grid for race two.

Managed to stay alive in first turns of race two, actually racing others, that was fun. A bit later I was spinning around, still not a clue what happened, will check replay later. Again racing from the back, but not confident enough, so lots of wall kissing and brake lock-ups. And aero at 14-10 wasn’t the best setup for Baku…

A race to forget, for me a least. I need good practice before a race te be confident and somewhat consistent. Lessons learned again. Track deleted, on to the next one

Thanks Markus and Han for organizing our races!

Here is a quick recap of my race and a few apologies and a question for you after reviewing the replay.

Race one way saw me getting a good start. Being cautious but still a good drive off the line allowed me to avoid a few crashes and got into 5th after turn 2. Of course the fast guys caught up fast and I tried being a good sport to drive in a predictable way to avoid incidents while being passed. A few of you passed me cleanly and then I made a mistake and looped it out of turn 7, now pointed the wrong way although off the racing line. When I thought everyone has past, start to get going, then Jason and Raj came up. Now I was in the middle of the track, probably scared Jason but at least he got by cleanly. But before I could move out of the way, came Taj who ended up hitting the wall avoiding me. Sorry about that Jason and Taj.

Towards the end of the race, I caught back up to Taj. About third lap from the end, looked like Taj had some problem on the final long drag, and I ended up passing him into the first turn. Then he passed back and held on to beat me to the checker. That was the fun part of the first race. This was a huge improvement compared to my first two races, I got to actually race someone! And one funny bits was that while I was leading Taj, made a mistake and looped the car. Still spinning but pointing across the track came Taj who hit me right at the front. That stopped me from spinning and set me straight, so I could continue as if nothing (well almost) happened:roflmao: other than one place down.

Race two I got off well from Pole (reward of being the last in race one:roflmao:). I kept telling myself to keep calm and don't make a mistakes. So I was mostly taking it easy but still was making mistakes. I was slow through the 8-12 combo (had been the challenge for me through out) and then glancing the wall on exit of 15. Now Omar was ready to pass me. To try keep things clean, I stay all the way to the right, thinking I will let Omar pass through the turn but get a good drive out to catch him back on the long drag with my (actually, Jason's) low drag setup. But I was surprised to find myself parallel to Omar at the Apex and we ended up toughing. If anyone else can take a look at the replay, I would like to know if I did anything wrong here -- it was on the first lap.

Then on the second lap I made a similar mistake out of turn 7 as in race one (very bad to be doing the same mistake) and hit the wall. Recovering from it I tried to stay in the middle of road going straight, until a car passed me. Upon hearing Clare saying: "Right clear", I moved over to right for turn 8 not realizing Taj was coming up fast. I ended up squez him and got hit. Good thing that he was able to keep going -- nevertheless sorry Taj! Now I spun off like a top and ended up in the run off before turn 8, facing the the traffic. This time I stayed off until everyone past so didn't post any problem for anyone else. Rest of the race was uneventful.

The sad thing for me was that I ended up going much slower on the race day than my fast time achieved practicing a couple of days ago. Need to figure out where went wrong. Overall, I feel like I am still making progress. Thanks again for all the coaching and driving tips I received from Carsten, Rasmus, Jason, Ernie, and Axel!

Maybe it's because it drives the opposite of the Abarth but I love this car. And the Baku track has been a favorite of mine since F1 2016 (my first sim).

Both races were intens but fun. Of course Fulvio, Jason and Axel were in a league of their own but I managed to finish as best of the rest.

@Twoddle Jason, what wing settings did you use. You can flying by on the straight with more than 190km/u or so!

Sadly I will miss the Miami race. Also a nice track. Have fun guys.
I will see you again at Imola!

I cant share my secrets sorry Han, if the other fast drivers figure it out I stand no chance.:cautious:

The first race didn't go well, Han reminded us it's a 25min race a minute to late as I fuelled for 20 mins like an idiot. Upon hearing that I lost all thought on the race and ended up completely missing T2 brake point having to use the runoff to turn around and now I was at the back and knowing i didn't have enough fuel I just couldn't get into the rhythm and kept making mistakes every where.

The second race I thought I would start on pole but due to not actually finishing I started at the back. slowly made my way into second with the impossible task of chasing Fulvio. I made a few mistake towards the end but managed to keep hold of 2nd.

Thanks to Han and Markus for hosting these events. Enjoy your holiday Han.

I also have to check the replay yet, but I have to say, first off, that I have been too impetuous on wanting to pass you there, I knew my pace was better than yours and I could have simply waited for a better place to overcome. Sorry for the bump.

On the other hand, I was very satisfied of my second race up to a certain point: I had a good start and while I know that I could have had a much better race if it wasn't for our scratch, I managed to climb a place at a time by not making (too many) errors and as such taking advantage of other driver's errors.
Close to the end I was chasing Paul @Shed 17 and I thought that I could get close enough to overcome him before the end of the race when I spun at turn 16 and (poor naive..) given that I hadn't practiced the track beforehand, I thought that I would have simply recovered the spin and settle for the 7th place. Instead, my car penetrated the side wall and fall into an infinite well from which I had no chance to resurface, and had to quit the race totally.
Quite disappointed by this as my performance was quite good (well at least for my standards) and I managed to find the pace between all those corners.

The first race in comparison was a total disaster. Also in this case I was recovering some places and was on my way to the podium :roflmao: but a contact on the main straight with @gearwhine while he was overcoming me (maybe a bit hurried like in my case with @KFMaster ?) made me lose a lot of positions so I had to float in the back positions for all the race.

I enjoyed this return to racing after four weeks in which I barely touched the wheel (actually, I never did :( but I drove some 1k km due to a couple of family trips), I promised myself I won't let pass so much time before the next time.

Cheers to the podium finishers and thanks @HF2000 and @abecede for organising!

Oh by the way.. one of those trips was to Turin where I enjoyed the car museum. A real heaven for petrolheads! (are there any here? :D )

Jason was running 0 rear and 4 front, I know that because I made nothing on him in the straights. ( there abouts )
But I was taking 2 seconds out of Thomas and you.
Once you had battled with Thomas and I could get near enough I could have easily over taken you both. Unfortunately I needed one more lap that did not happen.
I was getting 280+ kph on the long straight.

Wow.. I would have slid all around with those settings. I had a maximum speed of 265 on the main straight

But that would explain why he was "point and shoot" around the wiggly bits:O_o:
(brake straight, coast around the bend, gun it straight)
He didn´t loose there and gained massively on the straights, so Kudos :notworthy:
That´s just another league of (pretend) race driving

Impressed Carsten

I visited the Turin car museum with my son about 6 years ago. It's indeed great! Very visitor friendly! And it's also recommendable to combine this with a visit to the former FIAT factory with a racetrack on top. It's now a huge commercial centre but there's still the spiral road towards the top!

EDIT: I believe it was the longest building in Europe/world at that time.

Yes Carsten, both Thomas and Han made up the straight, by running quicker in the wiggly bits. I could not keep up with Thomas. Luckily for me he caught Han, they battled away.
When the battle was “follow me”, I made nothing but kept the distance reasonably constant.
As soon as they started to slow down, with a more heated battle, I made time, as I said before, they were saved by the bell.
But and this a big but, I am not a Jason, he was undoubtedly quicker than me in the wiggly bits, then matched me on the straights.
I do not know exactly what he was running , but I am not far off. I did work out a optimum wing to top speed, ( perhaps he was using that combination ).
As I do not like this car, lost the will to live with it. So I ran no wing. Knowing I was going to struggle in the twisty bits and may get a chance when the long straight appeared.
You cannot use the replay, as it shows incorrect speeds of other cars, ( when you sit in his car ).
You can fight people when you are talking about tenths, but these alien guys are in the seconds, no strategy can deal with that. You just have to accept that, unfortunately.

You just have to sit and observe the world we live in to easily come to the decision we are all not born equal, I know society forces the **** on you, making you think we are all equal, we are not. It is just the fact that all I hear from people is the me, me thing, I did this, no you didn’t it was gifted to you at birth.
But I console myself by understanding it is all meaningless, all that matters that you enjoy what you are doing.
I have great mid field battles, that will do me. And if you are at the back, then I envy you for the challenge of getting better, that is the most satisfying thing. A 100% from a 100% is exactly the same as fancy an alien time.
Sorry about the seriousness.
