Studio 397 have been busy with their rFactor 2 simulation, adding a raft of new updates that include the 2020 variation of the fabled Le Sarthe Circuit..
  • New updated adds Le Mans 24hr 2020.
  • Berlin, Silverstone and New York receive updates.

From the speed, noise and drama of Le Mans, to the innovation, electrical power and action of Formula E - content in rFactor 2 has been on the receiving end of the Studio 397 update treatment today, with a new patch having been deployed to the rFactor 2 simulation that brings a number of nice changes and improvements to four key racing venues within the title.

First up, and arguably the most high profile of the lot is a fresh 2020 update to the recent Le Mans Circuit de la Sarthe DLC track within the sim. Now updated to version 2.51, the track has enjoyed a fresh pass by the art and team at Studio 397 to update it to the 2020 setup, including new signage and a selection of minor adjustments.

Other goodies brought about in this new update include a nice refresh for one of the older tracks within the title, as the home of the British Grand Prix (twice this year!) at Silverstone gets a good going over, with an endurance layout added, plus plenty of visual improvements and proper night lighting.

Berlin and New York from Formula E land have also been updated, details of which you will find below:

Le Mans 2018/2020 v2.51
  • Added 2020 advertisements
  • Adjusted LODs on brake markers
  • Improved grass colour
  • Added some adjustments to run off road colours
Berlin FE 2020 v1.07
  • More accurate racesurface
  • Added night-lighting
  • Fixed various collision issues
Silverstone v2.10
  • Fixed floating pit-out lights on old pit exit
  • Fixed various object popping issues
  • Fixed minor road gaps
  • Some Curb Adjustments for accuracy at Club & Copse
  • Slight tweaks to colour balance
  • Added Endurance layout with extra trackside lighting for nighttime racing
New York FE 2020 v1.05
  • Fixed minor camera activation issue

rFactor 2 is available exclusively on PC.

Great to see their progress.
But I definitely need better UI for creating custom race event without that mastool nonsense.
And just normal Steam DLC system or well organized steam item menu which I think would impact their sales positively..
The DLC system is a bit of a disaster for sure. The only reason i know what i have is because i bough it all - except the "two strong" pack.

I also dont like that rF2 need workshop AND own install of all content taking up double the space. Other games seem to be able to run the workshop content directly from the workshop folder instead of needing it installed in the games own folders as well. A 500MB track for example is 1GB on your disk with rF2.

How to get the FFB to Save ? Every Time the game is started it goes back to default 100 FFB and almost rips my Old shoulders off the body. then I go back into settings set the car to 20 FFB it's great, leave game come back later FFB is 100 again Shoulders injured , maybe next time broken finger. It's danger, please fix this. Let me know when his fixed and I will Try again rFactor2 .Cheers.

Sean

Are three values

FFB smoothing
Car specific multiplayer
FFB min torque
If you don't change your car, the values don't change.

I am also an offline player, I play and test GT`S a lot.

In general GT3 and GTE you can leave the same values, perhaps you should write them down if you change from GT to Prototype or Formula cars.

No multiplier here . but anyway car specific FFB does not save when I re enter game and use the same car.View attachment 387672
"Car specific FFB" is meant. It's on 30% here. It's on 100% by default for every livery of every car. You have to manually change it at least one time. Updates could reset it, though.

Btw. Map your wheel buttons etc. and save your wheel profile in the mappings options, to be on the safe side.

Correct, it is on 30% here because I just re set it to 30% again, as it defaults back to 100% when I start the game Same car same skin same same. And this time I will do a controller save see what happens, It Should auto save any ffb changes, anyway, this is rFactor 2 where talking about. Cheers

Thanks for your helps gents, It works now when I save controller config . At least don't have to rewrite the controller config name each time we save it, Like the old UI ,would have to type the same name in so it would overwrite it. At least now it just auto overwrites when saved.
P.S.
Forgot to mention that I'm using beta UI.

I bought rf2 a few weeks ago after refunding it a few years ago.
The GTE cars at Sebring or Portland are up there with the very best experiences ive had in 25 years of simracing, why did i wait so long to jump back in? Simply phenomenal physics and FFB.

The Porsche GTE is such a joy to drive. It is the best version of the car for me.

The item store system is such an awful system, I rather they have normal DLC than items that are awful to manage. I have 2 Sebrings now which is stupid.

Very nice update. Berlin way more bumpy now, my fav FE-track so far.

Le Mans with its cat-eyes around the track is so immersive at night. Absolutely spot on. Same for Silverstone.

When is Spa24h, Oct right? Bet this is the major European track, S397 is working on atm.

Not because of the store most likely (unless you referring to current version increment as of all DLC). Hover over the old version and it will show the session mod that it forcing the old version to stay (old UI at least). Uninstall that and restart rF2 and old version is deleted. This behaviour is for multiplayer compability if the server is not updated when an mod is.

How are we getting on with an option to be able to select individual cars like in RRRE? RF2 is a brilliant title severely let down by certain options in the UI/menu system. The game seems to select the same car from a class over and over.
