RDRC S8 Round 1 - Rally Monte-Carlo (23rd - 29th January 2017)

Well, I only planned on doing a couple of stages but ended up doing the whole rally! My objective was simply to get to the end, which I just about accomplished after some very, very close calls. Glad it's over to be honest, as I hate Monaco! I don't mind the tarmac so much but I can't do anything on the ice. Anyway, looking forward to the next rally!

Just finished the 2nd half of Monte, and other than a couple of spins on stages 15 and 16 I kept it pretty clean. Didn't push hard enough early on though... lesson learned.

I think I can safely say that I'm not good on Monte.
But I finished, and that's all that matters!

wow 2wd- is looking like hard competition. Feeling a bit under powered here in my alpine now Hopefully this novice will get to make a run at it later in the week. should be exciting.. maybe not too exciting i hope

Well, given that it was my first ever attempt at a rally event (after racing karts in real life, and NASCAR, sports cars and open wheel races online before), I was aiming to simply finish the stages.

I survived the first 5 stages in a Lancia Delta and held my own ... before flying off a hill

I guess I still have a lot to learn, turns out.

Up until the checkpoint a almost mistake free run (even if it was around 5-6 sec off top 4wd- pace) secured a ok position, will see how checkpoint 2 hoes tomorrow!

Pro-tip: Don't confuse left 3 with left 1, gladly some very powerful brakes and lack of ice saved me

googleusercontent it says on the link, maybe you need to be logged on to a google account (chrome) or something? I can see them, and they are not my pictures so they cannot be totally private.

Day 2 Complete.
After 6 stages I'm sitting in 12th overall. Really pleased to be so high up considering I'm not in the top tier class Made very few mistakes and got the car set up reasonably well to handle the tarmac and snowy/icy roads.
