Well when I started today I never had driven on an oval before so I wanted to get as many laps in as possible and when I got to the better times I just wanted to beat that time over and over again.

At some point I was at 38.312 so I set myself the goal to get under the 38.3 marker and I managed just that in the very last quali session.

Things just got complicated for me as I am moving very soon, maybe even the weekend before the race, which means I may not have the internet or my PC up and running. Will have to wait and see how it goes though. Be a shame I am looking forward to this race.

Could someone please tell me or list what the server settings will be for the actual event?

A few of us have a server up for a practice session to find a race setup and I would like it to mirror the actual conditions of the RD500 server settings. I noticed during pre-quali that damage wasn't 100% and aids were naturally off but that's about all. I assume tyre and fuel usage will be x1 as it's a full length event but what will the damage level be for the event?

I've tried searching the threads but I can't find this info anywhere, any help would be appreciated.

Any chance of getting a practice server up?
It would be nice to work on a setup with other cars around as the gearing will have to be totally different with all that drafting, its pretty hard to make a set without other cars to draft with.

Pretty please! Its the test event tommorow.

We have one up. Rackage.com RD500 Test! Although I can't guarantee the settings are the same as the RD500 server will be, having had no response to my request. There will be several of us on after 19:00 BST with a view to practice drafting and finding a race set-up

Currently it is set up like this:-

90 minutes practice
15 minutes 4 lap max. qualy
15 minutes warm up
15 lap race
No aids except auto-clutch
Damage = 40%
All flag rules
Rolling start with formation lap

We ran a good test session last night and learned a few new things about the setup that we're hoping proves useful for the race.

On another note we did not get the safety car to come out when it perhaps should have. In fact the whole evening was safety car free which makes me wonder whether we have it working properly. Has the RD server seen the safety car come out at Jacksonville? Does it need to be brought out manually? I know these questions will probably be answered tonight but I thought I'd just let you know about our experiences.

I'd also like to know what is to be done about cars smoking in the race? It's quite possible, in the setup, to have the car smoke for about 1/3 of a lap without blowing the engine or any real problems over multiple stints. I personally wouldn't like to be behind a car doing a Bond-esque smoke screen into turn 2. If it were for real I'm sure they'd be black flagged but I see no provisions for this within the rules.
