I just hope as a regular before this summers time change I don't get snuffed with some club participation clause they have been adding to recent Series sign ups.
Regulars will always have first pick as commitment is king. We have still plenty of weeks to go though until the sign ups open. Just make sure you have a solid track record of online races here at RD and you'll be okay to enter :)

Drivers with no prior or sufficient club history will not be considered for the pro-qualification.

Thanks for the reply Bram!
Will it be based on club participation in general or for GT3 events? if its the latter, can we get a weekday and a weekend GT3 event leading up to the start of the series so everyone can get a chance of getting in there participation points :)

I was saying a series to run along side the main one like F1 has F2 for example.
One thing at a time.
I agree with the idea in principle, and have suggested something like it myself.
But this is the first time we're running a league with R3E, and there will inevitably be something that throws a spanner in the works. Even with a tried and tested platform like rF2, there were still server-crashes and other assorted hiccups.
So let's get a season under our collective belts, and let the organizers get some experience with whatever R3E decides to throw our way.
After that, we can think about expanding.

Jep, as Sector 3 advised us not to do it with 60 drivers. It will generate memory issues because we will be using a lot of unique cars and models.

2017 and we still can't fully use the potential of the (simulated) racing experience :)

If it doesn't work, it doesn't work. Better take it away as you did then :)

RD GT Championship Season 7.jpg

The legendary RaceDepartment GT Championship returns for a seventh season and this year with Sector 3 Studios' RaceRoom Racing Experience.

A maximum of sixty of the world's most committed drivers will fight for the championship in two competitive divisions on Sunday nights. The sixty unique GT cars will be racing on four iconic racing circuits in Europe.

Due to the absence of custom skins in RaceRoom Racing Experience we have opted to go for a unique approach where all drivers will be assigned an exclusive car brand and skin. During an exciting pre-qualification event a decision will be made who drives in which exotic GT3 car from the GTR 3 Pack.

From the 3rd paragraph of the sign up thread: "Due to the absence of custom skins in RaceRoom Racing Experience we have opted to go for a unique approach where all drivers will be assigned an exclusive car brand and skin. During an exciting pre-qualification event a decision will be made who drives in which exotic GT3 car from the GTR 3 Pack."

Those who manage to survive the pre-qualy will be assigned a unique car and model. Pre-qualy will be driven exclusively with the Ford GT so all the drivers have the same car. The Ford GT will be retired after the Pre-Qualy.

We are going to see a very unique field where all the cars except the Ford GT and P4/5 will be used.

It was either this approach with a 100% diverse field with recognizable drivers or opening it up completely with the risk that 40 drivers will pick the same Nissan GTR with the same number plate which effectively rules out the broadcast with live commentary making it a very dull field of cars.

Any other form of car distribution would have resulted in (some) drivers being disappointed that they can't pick the car of their choice.

So I cant decide which car I want to drive?

Well, lost any interest then, not gonna drive anything i dont like, thats litterally the worst decision you could have made, also the drive thrus will trigger after one offtrack? BULLSHIT
