RD GT Championship 2010 II

There is no RFM file needed to see the cars in the game, nor there will be one for the server.

The veh files have the same class as the SWC-GT cars, you dont need to change that!

Please do not change the VEH files!

The rfm defines the category. If you have no rfm to a category, the car won't be available. And as you removed the default category and added the RDGTC-category, there must be a rfm or the cars are not available! Maybe you have an old rfm installed with that category so you see the cars. But we do not have one, so we either need the old default category in the veh or an rfm, otherwise there's no chance to use the cars.

Edit: Forget what I wrote above... I am wrong. The rfm defines the class, not the category...! BUT: Why did it work when I added the SWC-GT to the category? I had no RDGT Championship category, so I could not see the car. I added SWC-GT and my car was shown in the default Team Cadillac... (which is also strange^^). Now, I removed it and it works... I have the RDGT Championship category with my car in it... But now, I made the same with Brian's Mustang I am painting and it is not available! I added SWC-GT again, and it is still not available...I removed it again, but without success. Now I am a bit confused, because the veh file should be correct (I double and triple checked it...). Hmmmmmmmmmmmm... Strange...

Hi all,

I have a question about the windows.dds

I have created a window but in the game it always shows the old one on top of the new one? I saved it the same way as in gtr evo (dxt5).

The second problem is, i can see right thrue my back window banner. I know that i have to make the Alpha channel white but that gave a nasty glowing effect. Can you give me some tips to try?

I have the same problem with my Cadillac windows... I did not try the Mustang yet, but I fear it will be the same...

For your second question, I don't have an answer. I just can say, that my Caddy window work here. But I have no custom banner, just window border and some black stripes in the window. Butas the front banner works (your additional colors under the black part), the rear window banner should work, too...??!!??

I am sorry but some thing here does not add up. I have spent 2 hours now trying to get this to work and it just will not. I have been skining a long time and never none any thing like this. the .veh files are wrong guys they must be because how can the game see a class that is not there. all it says in the guide is put your folder in the carset folder that does not work for me i have even tried putting it in the other 2 and I still cant get this to work. Help!!!!!

Nope, it does not work, too. I tried it now on two different machines and also with a clean and fresh rFactor installation with only the NAGT mod on it. I copied the content of your archive into the carset folder as is. Also copying into the SWC-GT-Folder does not work. I looked into the veh file and it is identical to my own with the only difference in the car number. But as your file does not work, too, the numer should not be the cause. I did another test: I installed another mod where I made my last skin for (a special PCC mod for the 24h race last weekend) in the same installation. Then I copied the Porsches I made into it. It worked perfectly... So, my installation should also be ok. It is also confusing, that my Caddy did not work, too. After I changed the veh, it was here. Now I changed it back and it is still available...

Thats really strange. In years of skinning, this is the first time that this happens. Normally, cars are unavailable when something is wrong in the veh or one of the dds-files is saved something wrong. But I am sure, there is everything ok here. And as Jari's example does not work, too, it is the most possible thing, that it might be "a mod thing".

I can finish the skin overwriting an existing one, so it does not hinder my work. I'll send you the skin(s) with the veh files when I'm ready, as planned. Hopefully, it "just works" when the complete carset is released and installed... Otherwise, I (and the others having problems) might have a problem...

Edit: Umh...eh? What is going on with this mod? I just deleted Jaris files in my rF installation (and only them!) and copied my files back (only the Mustang-files!). Now, I have Brians Mustang in the list - BUT NOW MY CADDY IS GONE AGAIN! AAAAAAAAAAAAAH! This mod makes me crazy! You can say what you want, there IS something wrong with the mod!

I am sort of the same i can get Brians to work but not the 996 i have tried every thing i can think of to get it to work. i think ther must be some thing wrong with the mod some were i can post the files if that helps?

Ok, I still canot get the problem out of my head... I just did some stupid silly tests (if logic does not work, try silly things ). And now I have both cars. In the current state, it looks to me that it depends on the name of the veh-file. Here is how it - currently (hope, it lasts...) - works for me:

I name Brians veh as mentioned, RDGTC_Brian_Clancy.veh .
But my VEH file, I cannot name "RDGTC_...". If I do, the car is gone. I named it "CTS_Harald_Stadler.veh" now and it works...

It seems, that for some custom cars (like my Caddy), the original naming scheme of the mod "Carbrand_..." works, but the scheme "RDGTC_..." not. For others it is vise versa. If I name the Mustang's veh "Mustang_Brian_Clancy.veh", I cannot see the car. With "RDGTC_Brian_Clancy.veh", it is ok!

It does not depend on where the files are located. They can be either in the Carset folder, in the SWC-GT folder, in a RDGTC folder or in any other (sub-)folder inside the Carset folder, even in separated ones. The behaviour is allways the same.

So now, my veh files are named "CTS_Harald_Stadler.veh" and "RDGTC_Brian_Clancy.veh" and it works.

Crazy naming behaviour...^^

@Wayne: Try renaming the veh file like I did... Maybe, it helps you, too... I would like to know, if it helped to proof my theory...

@Harald Did not work for me mate. this has to be one of the sillyest things i have seen in a mod i bet it world work if i make a skins folder and put them in there

@Wayne: Your problem was easy to solve (if you know the naming issue) There are three things, two "bugs" and the "naming thing":

1. In the veh-file, remove the word "file" at the end of the default livery name (and remove the blank also).
2. Your veh-file is named "... .veh.veh". Remove one veh-extension.
3. Rename the veh to "P996_Carl_Middleton.veh".

Then, it should work. :D
