I have massive issues with getting tire pressures right. I read that the middle temps should be between 185 and 195 degrees, but I can never get it like that on all 4 tires. And then I also read that the tires should be hottest in the middle, but my inner tires are always the hottest, and for the life of me I can't correct this issue. If anyone has tips to help I'm all ears.

You guys are insane. 1.55's... sheesh. I'm miles off that. Thought I was on the right foot early on in testing with the Corvette, but since switching to the Dodge my speed has been sapped. The car is at least a second and a half slower than these other machines. Going to be a tough season!

Its very simple.
(please Bram don't start to call me mr. Variable :D).

Its all due the variables that have effect on the tyres.
- air temp
- track temp
- the track layout itself
- the car you use
- your driving style
- your setup
etc etc.
All these variables will give your the tyretemps.

Recently I have been having problems with my tire temps with all cars. My outside temps have tended to be 1-2 degress celcuis warmer than the middle. Never had that problem before but what I try to do to combat it is to keep a fixed camber and toe-in/out and play with the tire pressures. Even if it doesn't work, all the practice on different tire pressures helps me find the pressure at which I get the most grip without causing too much wear.

first step to sure that James is to increase the pressures. I find in evo the defaults are often too low for sprint races. You need to be carefull when you put up the pressure as it will also increase the speed which the tyres heat up and also over heat so on longer runs. You will need to test it to find the best comprimise.

I did a quick 2:00.4 just now on the server and I reckon I could shave a couple of seconds off with a decent setup but I just hate this track. Doesn't matter what car I am in I have never enjoyed driving round it. Race is going to be tough that's for sure.

OMG This will be AWSOME SEASON. I am looking all over this RDGTC Forum and i can see the LIFE is moving here,it's huge, great skins, great drivers, great cars. Just MAGNIFIC! Can't wait!!!! :trophy:

The Dodge is not slower than any other car in the field Danny :) It has massive topspeed (150bhp more than other cars) that compensates the slower cornering speeds.

The laptimes of all cars are equal on Brno. I have tested all of them with Yuri Braham the other day before the signups and drove equal times (1:57 no cockpitview) with all cars

:) I'll trade my Dodge for your Vette. :)

That's good news then. I suppose the car just doesn't fit my style. I have some work to do to current this!

The Dodge is just a strange cup of tea :) You need to find a way to work that car around the corners. Try to play a bit with your setup (imo especially with the ARB's, caster, camber and suspension) and see how it will affect your laptimes. On the other hand it is also a fact of getting used to the car. In my case i first hated the Dodge badly, but after a lot of laps i started to like that car more and more now i knew how to handle that car. In the end i was doing the same pace in the Dodge as in the better cornering Aston.

Good luck Danny :)

Strange, that's a good way to put it. It just handles funny around the corners, and it's taken me for a throw. I'll try those setup changes to see what that does.

Thanks for the advice, Maurice!

No problem Danny. The "funny" handling around the corners is imo also due to its weight(distribution) with the massive engine under the hood. Its just playing with the setup and your driving style (cornering in this car works a bit different then in a WTCC car or so), to find out what works best for you. Best way to find out imo is to just drive a 10-odd laps (or more) in one go, to find out how the car handles on that track. If you then know how the basic handling is of the car and what the exact "problems" are, then start working on the setup to find out of that adjustment works for you (and hopefully also for a faster laptime:))

Robert the best way to get a decent setup that fits your driving style is to practice with some of the guys. As the most setups are different than the one you fits.
Ask someone here at the forum if they could practice some and help you out with knowing how to setup these beasts.
- Here are some basics for a starter (my style setups)
- First lower the car as low as possible! front and back!
- Then play with the gearing so that the 6th gear has the perfect fit for the straight parts of the track. Remember to leave some room for slipstreaming during the race!
- Then adjust the differential: Lock= the more the faster the rear wheels will lock up when accelerating Coast: During switching between accel and deaccel the amount of power transferd between the 2 rear wheels.
- Braking is important just be sure that you can brake as almost full before entering a turn, and getting that rear end slightly drifting into the turn.
- Camber the more negative camber your run the higher the amount of grip will be. But it will give your tyres higher temps, and a shorter life time. But don't overdo it. or it will work negativly. Everything has have its edge.
Well these are the basics. To learn everything i could join you some time at the track. to show you how to setup.

There are some very helpful guides in this linked thread - http://www.racedepartment.com/race-s...tml#post460181

Thanks for that guys I am slowly getting used to the corvettes handling and learning to adjust my style to keep it on track but with your help I should be able to have a play and make the car better.
I think my main problem now is to be more precise in the corners with this car as if I give its quite hard to corrects the car when I have made a slight mistake.

This really is a hole new world of online racing from me I am from a NFS SHIFT racing league on GTPLANET so I never had to worry about temps getting to high and adjusting my driving skill to suit the temps of the car but I am loving every second of it, its the realism I have been looking for.

question for any of you that like there touring cars: has any one had any problems with the Peugeot 407 i think it is in the 2006 WTCC section as every time I have drive that car its blown an engine on me literally I mean every time I have used it on line or off the engine goes pop and I am left with a car spewing white smoke all over and then setting on fire.

Just been for s pin, no problems here. Maybe try asking in the main Race 07 forum, you'll get a bigger audience in there.
