The last chicane was difficult because I think from an in car perspective it can be hard to tell when you have cut the line by the smallest of margins. Also, the sausages are there to stop people cutting. So in theory if you don't hit the sausage you should be okay. But as others have noted, the car proportions don't fit the curb, so the whole car fits onto the curb. One thing I don't understand is why you did all the penalties for server 1 and not server 2? Only 7 of us finished and only Ze German was penalised. I know we all cut that chicane at some point on server 2. Although I do know I lost some time there trying to take it without cutting. I think for some it's a hard choice to take a few corners extra cautiously and lose seconds per lap, hoping penalties will work in your favour later.

It was me that cause Ze German damage because I went to drop it down a gear going into the final chicane and it went down 2 gears instead. So I do feel guilty because he didn't report me as it didn't really impact on his final finishing position, but now he's been punished and lost his place and maybe if I had been penalised he'd still be in top 5.

This cutting saga is overshadowing the whole league. There has been some good racing on the broadcast, but come the final race we might not even have a full grid..

Don't worry about it, it was a racing accident (spins happen even to the best!) and even if I had reported you and you'd received a penalty, it would've probably been only a few seconds compared to my 3 minutes :D

Congratz to Alex Parker for his P9, with a little luck he might be contending for the championship.
I for myself will race in Imola like I did in Donington. I guess that will leave me in server 2 for Nürburgring then, but that won't bother me as I am only in for the fun on track, anyway.

I thought you agreed to follow the rules when you signed up for this league, as everyone else did.
What I read on the post above is that you just want to race outside the given ruleset, am I correct?

This quote is from another thread but I thought my post is more suitable here.

The rules about track limits are the same for club events too :)

Yes, indeed they are. However, we have barely never had any complaints in Club races about white line violating although it happen as much as in this league or even more. Usually we just congratulate each others for great race and intensive side by side racing and praise how fun and fair that was. Why? Because everybody know crossing those lines occasionally is not that big of a deal and most importantly, nobody do it on purpose or regularly.

So why this kind of behavior won't work in league? Well, it somehow work in this race because there was no incident reports. Isn't that a sign that everybody was pleased how race went? I read somewhere that "No report = no penalty".

Please don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining my penalties. Those were clear cuts and I accept my sanction. Just trying to say that taking this league too seriously kills the funfactor of it.

Not one cut in the Donington race was intentional. And neither will I cut intentionally in Imola. What I meant to say was that I know that one would have the best chances to "win" by going 1.5 seconds a lap slower and not taking any chances at all but that's not whats going to happen from my side, as that would be just as fun as a long trip with the subway.

@Tomi there were a couple of reports submitted, and we the race stewards thought it to be prudent to examine all drivers so people didn't think they were being singled out!

People will never submit a report for track limits in club races because there is nothing to gain from it! where as in this where points are at stake it seems to bring out the worse in a minority of drivers!

@Tomi I get what you say but the answer is really simple. People in club races are not bothered to report their fellow drivers, so the environment is more relaxed.
In cups and leagues though, the stewards receive reports. And when you receive a report, you have to do an investigation.

edit: ninja'd :p

I would love to see you piling over the sausage curbs with your real cars, rattling your teeths. Debalancing your tires, ruining your bushings, control arms, trailing links and the lot of it. And say how fun that was when the bill hits you.

And one thing from me, before we move on. A statement. I've been very unspoken about this entire shenanigance. Just a few words to put this brooming topic that's going behind the public door to rest.

I often see guys rating posts and even pointing fingers who are not involved with the league, or not involved with league anymore in a very negative sort of way.

The easy thing to do is, sit by the side, pointing fingers and having a cheap laugh on someone elses expense. The hard thing to do would be accepting the challenge and molding your performance and thereby story according to the outcomes of following, not the predetermined desired result in yours or someone elses head.

I think the fact that 95% of messages to do with this series regards track limits and cutting, rather than the great close racing, the amazing skinpack, the fantastic commentary by RJ and the fun and enjoyment that we all signed up for at the start of the series seems no where in sight.

I really think there has to be a big shift in the way this is all done for future leagues. yes this is RDs first ever Assetto Corsa league - of course there will be teething problems... but the issues to do with this league are actually 0% to do with the game itself.

If you read any comments outside this site regarding this championship - it is receiving widespread criticism, which is only going to deter future new members from competing, which is a real shame.

Who is going to want to enter a league where 21/22 racers are penalised for accidently going across white lines.. when any other league in simracing don't apply these laws.. and only penalise people for wreckless driving and collisions, not running wide at a corner.

This league started with so much promise and I cant help but feel it just has a sour taste in a lot of peoples mouths.. not just my own.

I can believe that your cuts were unintentional. But if you want to be part of this cup you need to improve your driving standards and stay within the rules you agreed to follow.

A small example of what I m talking about:

As others have stated, in the club races there are hardly any complaints because nothing to gain, but many times I have heard Si or one of the others saying over TS that so and so should stop with the cutting etc. And many times I see people in front of me cutting and ignoring the limits in club racing and I think to myself, no wonder I can't go as fast as these guys, but I stick within the white lines and if that makes me go slower then so be it. So just saying what it's like in the club races for all the sims, not just AC. I personally wish everyone would stick to the limits and stop trying to hot lap in every race. And stop crying when they are caught.
Just my opinion as a lowly club racer.
