RaceDepartment New Website Released

RaceDepartment.com will be down on Wednesday 30th October, as we look to bring a fresh new image to the largest sim racing website in the world.

Having undergone considerable growth and change in the last decade and a bit, we feel the time is right to take our website to the next level of presentation and functionality. On the evening of Wednesday 30th October (approx 22:00 UTC) we will close access to www.racedepartment.com for much of the night, as we upload and launch our brand new website!

We anticipate access will be restricted for around 12 hours, but if you still need that essential sim racing fix, take the opportunity to check us out on our various Social Media platforms, which can be accessed via the below links.

Agree, the sidedbar should be fixed to the side of the page and not go up, when you scroll down the main page. It already has its own independent scrolling, when it's fully expanded. But if you do fully open it and scroll down the main page (not the sidebar itself), you can see that it gets clipped, so I think that's a glitch and not the intended behavior

What are people's thoughts on making the side bar fixed / pinned to the top, rather than it scrolling up with the rest of the page?

I think it would be quite handy to be able to access this menu even when you have reached the end of the thread, without having to scroll right back to the top of the page to select 'New posts' (or whatever).

I think it should definitely stay fixed like the top bar because it is just more convenient that way. After all it is supposed to make navigation easier and hiding it with scrolling defeats this purpose.

The new dark theme should be renamed to "(not really that) dark theme".
But really, the one before that was much better.

No. It is not virus....

They modified something. But without category names the main download page is USELESS!! For eaxmple somebody release a skin You don't know, which sim made for.

A little bug with the new player on the forum. One thing is that I would love to be able to close it (I do watch the race on Twitch instead), but it is also hiding the "jump to top" / "jump to bottom" buttons in Chrome

Been months since this layout released and I still stand by what I said originally, this "new" layout sucks.
