What about in warmup? I'm not entirely sure if the white or yellow line is the pit exit line, and I was trying to use the penalties to determine which is was

Phew. That was a heck of a finish!

I guess oval pack-racing was a step too far for oval racing at this point in time was a bit too "much". It does take a certain mindset and some experience.
I'm genuinely sorry that much of the race turned out the way it did - as the last 10 laps showed, it was more than possible to have an insane race without SC here.

It won't be the last oval in the rF2 club, but we'll not be restrictor-plating in the future, trying to avoid the massive pack racing is probably a good idea.

Thanks to all that showed up, including the retirements for the effort. Thanks to @Simon Smith and @Roy Magnes for the broadcast, hopefully the ending was great to commentate on! :)

I wish we all could have a better experience, I do take personal pride in all the events I host, and I don't like it when not everyone has a great time.

Remember to look at replay before commenting or sending PM's to one another. I know there was some frustration during the race, but please do take some time to cool off. Look at replays tomorrow, and remember from the rules:

  • Try and discuss any incidents with the other drivers involved after the race in a friendly manner. If you feel stressed out by an accident then take 24 hours to calm down, review the replays of the incident and resolve it in a mature way via PM. Do not make angry posts about it on the forum. If you cannot resolve the problem then please contact the staff member whom organised your race via PM, sending them an incident report that follows the procedure outlined here.

It's back to normal the coming week in the rF2 Club now with this calendar:

Monday: 2012 British Grand Prix @ Silverstone GP - Mon 20th February 2023
Thursday: Lotus Ford Cortina @ Manfield - Thu 23 Feb 2023
Friday: S397 Endurance @ Istanbul Park F1 Layout - Fri 24 Feb 2023

Hope to see you guys there as well :)

Pack racing and nascar racing in general is a different cup of tea and it was clear that some weren't totally familiar with it, still going from 3rd at the start to being a lap down to finishing 3rd after an epic final few laps was still a heck of an experience!

That was a crazy fun evening. Absolutely nerve shredding having to go from the calm discussions of cautions, to sudden 300kph wheel-to-wheel sprints that were always inches away from disaster. Tactics were incredibly crucial, as being on the rear bumper of another car was vital to avoid being passed by everyone else. Our inexperience in pack racing showed, as there was a lot of lane changing which caused most of the issues. But I reckon that as the cautions piled up, we all found that we needed to go forwards in a short amount of time, which just made it worse. The cautions were undeniably frustrating, but the bursts of racing we had were incredibly intense, tactical affairs that I wouldn't have missed for anything. Thanks for the evening and putting up for 2hr30min, just a shame I was out of the final laps running.

And one final time
