Back to back wins and championship lead for Lutz
Williams driver Jason Lutz took his second win of the season, and along with it the lead in the drivers' championship. Said put up a tough challenge, but in the end his tyres were done and he had to settle for 2nd place. The two of them were a long way ahead of the Red Bull duo Lintner and Laad. With 4th today Laad dropped to 2nd in the standings, albeit on equal points with Lutz. Old Wolf finished 5th, keeping both Astons behind him with some brilliant defensive driving. Rossello finished in 8th, he couldn't match the pace of his teammate Lutz. Harvey and Jednak in the Ferraris finished 9th and 10th, the couldn't get the car to work all weekend long. Mishra was the last to finish in 11th, Toyota driver Taddo suffered an engine failure and retired early on.
Roundup after 1/3 of the races
In the WDC noone could take a commanding lead yet, although Lutz certainly knew to impress with his 2 recent wins. Laad the only driver to finish in the top 6 every race, Harvey and Jednak lost out on that in the most recent race. Keranen in the top group too, but after his win in the opening round his form dropped.
The WCC is as close as it gets, with Williams, Ferrari, and Red Bull separated by only a single point. Aston is in the mix as well, only 9 points down.
No abilities have been used yet, they might become an important factor soon.
