Pretty much stayed like that until the last 5 laps, where I had great fun catching Lee, thinking I might just be able to pinch another place.

:laugh2: It came down right to last corner, and a mighty stamp on the brake pedal to avoid kissing your bumper, nearly. :highfive:

Yeah ... errrmmm sorry if that last corner was a bit harsh mate, I slowed it a tad more than I realistically meant to in order to keep the inside line, as I knew round the outside would be nigh on impossible from how far back you were :wink2:
Had spotted you coming a few laps earlier TBH, and almost throttled off to have a bit of fun and a tag match with you for the last few laps, but was a bit nervous after my other up close performances last night, so instead I just drifted around steadily making sure you didn't get in a real attacking position. :hug-right:

RE: Ben's Binds comment ... I have started trying to use my headlights as much as possible to say "thanks" or "sorry" to those in front or behind me ... ie a few quick flashes as acknowledgement of an incident.

There is another thread somewhere round here discussing binds, but IMO sometimes they can be used effectively to help avoid a bit of "race rage", especially in club nights where not everyone knows or is used to racing one another.

I'd say keep them very short and use them sparingly (ie one quick word: sorry, thanks, np and only if necessary), full phrases or sentences take too long to read, and long "conversations" about incidents mid-race (binds or otherwise) should defo be left till after the race to sort out, stuff like telling people "I crashed and am off now ... night, night everyone" is just not what I want to see mid-race TBH, especially when I am racing as badly as I did last night

The other bind that now seems to be being frowned upon by many people is "pit in / pit out" binds. Guess on that the answer is just do it, watch your mirrors as you exit, other drivers be aware that cars may be exiting pits.
Point to note here, although you need to be careful when exiting pits and use a bit of common sense, once a driver has actually left the pits (ie is past the end of solid white line for pit exit) he has officially returned to the track and so is as entitled to (safely) hold and defend his position as is any anyone else on track.

Just be careful though and remember its about fun out there eh

ohhhh , ok . Thanks Steven .
Agree with Ben than , i think the chat should be off during qualify and race .

If chat is / was to be turned off during racing when it comes to being lapped this may cause confusion as to which way to go.

I understand what you guys are saying about the chat as it does put me off sometime but if an accident is caused when a back marker is trying to get out of the way will they be penalised? :laugh2:

As you well know I get it wrong even when using chat lol
In this race I lost the back end and Mr Gault went into the back of me, not his fault as I said for him to go that way....

There is good and bad points to having chat taken off but in my opinion I feel it would cause problems not using it for certain info. :laugh2:

(Or I could drive faster)

^^ or you make your intentions clear with your driving style and lines, ie shift to one side and stick firmly to your chosen line to allow the faster drivers through, slightly throttling back to allow more space helps, then tucking in behind and losing minimal time ... no harm done :thumb:.

You must have seen my racing lines? I have none lol
:laugh2:
Looks like I need to improve or get a racing line then lol

I did it in the F3000, 48 seconds slower than Bram:D Really it's a hard track! I can't push it very much on it!:)
I would love to drive it in a slower car though, really beautiful place!:) By slower I mean, less than 100bhp, some old eastern classic, or a cheap car like the stock Lacetti (or Lanos:)), or a Suzuki etc... Could be awesome to boil the water in a Skoda 120L while trying to climb up the hill!:D
Edit: Then trying to stop that while going down!:D

another great mini race :in-love:

qualified 10th with my fastest lap 1:30.9 and as usual times were very close.

race, got a resonable start and got past bob, than after lee dropped back i started to close on prib and spent the best part of 45mins trying to catch and pass him lol, we pitted together but my stop was quicker and i rejoined just a few secs behind David L and after numerous laps catching and then loosing time david went off handing me 8th and a 5sec gap which i held to the line.

thanks for another top nights racing, se ya next week :good:

ps. anyone except Ben suffer any lagg? i rebooted my router and pc but it wouldn`t go, odd thing is i also got lagg at this track when 1st using the demo :confused2:

I had a few big lag moments in praccy and quali, time warp cars and stuff ... and not sure what happened in the race, but what I am 99% sure saw in my cockpit before going off on lap 2 is not at all what I saw in the replay afterwards. :moneymouth:
Could all be in my head with the goblins and fairies tho

BTW ... note to self on this race - test your gear selections before racing with 'em ... stupidly twiddled 2nd and 3rd and I think 4th gear ratios prior to race and made em too long (meant to change em back but forgot) ... hindered me big time on straight line acceleration

Big scary moment behind Carlos going into T1 around mid distance, we were quite close then his car just froze, luckily I went straight through him, then he popped up in front of me just before the right hand T2. After that all was fine and had no other issues.

Don't worry about it Rich it's only a bit of fun. There was just a couple of times when you made more than one blocking move on the same straight, it's common practice to make one blocking move and then hold that line for the whole length of the straight. But it was a great battle, I really enjoyed it ;)

No worries. I like to be told if I am doing something wrong or that is seen as unfair though, because I don't race to be dirty. Lee has told me as well that he saw a couple of times on the straight where I seemed to switch my line to defend. To be honest I didn't notice I was doing this so will watch the replay to see what I was doing.

Just a note though, was my line into the corners a bit too rough also or was it mainly the straight, because I was trying to take the best line possible into the corners to stop you nipping in on the inside, unless you had poked up my inside already.

fun fun... a nowhere performance... but did include one of my favourite overtakes evah in lap 7... ho ho... otherwise, some nice fights on and off throughout... finally binned it a few mins afore the end, losing concentration while being lapped....

edit: i noticed quite a bit of micro-lag last night too
