Thank you everyone from me too for the racing - really enjoyed some hard clean fights in both races.

I joined early but was so tired having started work at 5am Friday I was struggling to concerntrate and keep my eyes open for more than a lap so didn't put a race distance in during the practice session. Black coffee didn't help much and I spent quali and warmup in the land of nod. Big thanks to the people on TS who woke me up, didn't want to miss this race. So with about 6 seconds to go I joined the grid, thankfully with my race setup loaded. Had to drop the the tail of the field after giving everyone blue flags but once it sorted itself the chase was on and the top 8 was within reach.
Some nice battles with Ethan and Mike for the first half of the race and the latter stages I was fighting for 8th with Michael Carver- great driving it was close and fair without contact. Jepser retires late in the race moving us all up a spot and Michael keeps me at bay unil the chequered.

Race 2 and pole position, Dariusz makes a great start and I make a half hearted attempt to cover but think twice and he goes down the inside at T1, I wasn't too sure where he was so gave him perhaps too much room which lead to the T1 incident- I tagged Carver, (as much my fault) initally not too bad and I slowed slightly to avoid spinning him totally but with the entire field tightly compacted behind chain reaction was inevitable.
Now trying to work my way back through the pack racing hard with Ethan for the first half of the race and just after the stops (see his post) before he made a mistake allowing me through. Gabor, running 6th, was about 4 seconds ahead and I spent the remainder of the race chasing him almost getting within reach at the finish just needed a couple more laps and I may have been able to make a move.
Thanks again for the racing, and to Eric/RD for hosting.

Great report, Ethan. It's an honor to have the opportunity race so closely with such a clean and hard-charging racer. Had great battles with both you and Simon. It's refreshing to race with racers that one is confident won't take one out, if one makes the slightest mistake. It's also great to know that if one does make a minor mistake, one will almost certainly pay the price and will be promptly passed (cleanly).

Unfortunatly, there was to be no battle because, on lap 10, I'm taking out while going throught the dropping left right sweeper (turn 11), at the apex, only a short while after coming off the brakes. All I felt was an almighty thud, with my car being rammed, sending it sideways onto the grass, then went into a small 360, making the right rear contact the barrier at over 80KPH. Caused suspension damage and a right rear puncture. Race ruined!

Not going to say any more about mister Fast's driving, incident report will do the talking.

Cya later.

hey Ethan, as i said in TS, i'm sorry about that. i had been following you for a long time, and didn't realize i was much closer that time in that corner, and i didn't brake soon enough. totally my fault. i will admit i'm still not very good at racing with people, as i'm just starting multi-player and too used to driving with AI. sorry for wrecking your race.

Mike,

In club races, we say we are sorry on the track and in the race by following Club Rule #3, which one agrees to when applying for a club license:

3) If you hit another driver during a casual club race and disadvantage him, we expect you to stop and let the other driver regain his position on you. If this costs you many places (eg first few laps) then consider this a penalty for your driving infringement. Doing this shows respect to your fellow drivers and will encourage drivers to be more careful. Please use some care when letting the other driver regain position, do not immediately stop your car on the driving line where it can cause further accidents.

Don't fret, you will get the hang of racing online -- just apply some patience and realize that us human racers are even more unpredictable than the AI guys.
