Some good racing, especially with Marco in race 1. Got 6th place due to others not finishing with fuel problems.

Race 2 was more of the same. Got a great start again, led for about 7 feet till James went by, along with everyone else. Had a nice battle with Ross, but he eventually went past. Then spent the rest trying to look after the tyres (which failed), and struggled to hold off Marco and Hassan towards the end.

I spun slightly on the last lap and Marco had no where to go. Was hoping he would clear Hassan, but they had a scrap amongst themselves. Then let Marco through for 7th for holding him up slightly. Was hoping to beat Hassan to 8th, but I was a bit too slow crossing the grid, especially with Marco almost hitting me at the end, so finished up 9th.

In both races, suffered with massive tyre wear at the end. Great cars to drive, very weighty and had to brake half way down the straights for the corners, and waiting for an eternity for the car to get to the apex.

Thanks Remco and Gunthar of course for the mod.

:)

All I was hoping to do was make it to the finish without causing trouble for anyone, and have a little fun. Qualified right in the middle of the pack, so was pretty conservative at the start trying to slot in single file. A couple cars got by me then I start to see the wreck happening in front. Thought I was going to get by Tyler without hitting him, but it wasn't meant to be. The contact punctured my right front and damaged the suspension also leaving me off in the grass. I managed to limp back to the pits, and after getting new tyres rejoined. Unfortunately, the suspension/aero damage left my car pretty difficult to drive. I ran a couple more laps before deciding to park it, as I was afraid I'd be a meanace to everyone if I kept going.

Started race two at the back, so I just carefully made my way around for the first half lap before getting with the program. Eventually worked my way up to fifth (mostly due to cars in front having issues) and was pretty happy with how things were shaking out. Since I didn't see the end of race one, I had guessed on my fuel, but ended up being 1 lap short. I pitted on the final lap losing two positions but made it to the checkers finishing seventh.

Overall, I had a good time running with everyone and will try to make some more events in the future. Driving wise I wasn't too dissatisfied with how it went seeing as I hadn't fired up Evo in a looooooong time before yesterday.

We have a fresh, new way of reporting and punishing incidents in the Racing Club, using an infractions system - read more here

You are actively encouraged to use this system - we like to keep driving standards high - so if you feel you were wronged in any way during an event simply send the event organiser a private message detailing the incident including a youtube video. Do not post reports/accusations in the thread itself - negativity and anger gets us nowhere.

Actually, just the stock cars and this addon... so we've got the normal lineup plus the maseratti, ferrari 550 and 575, and the lambo.....

and I guess they would be perfect matches for each other since the latter is just skins over a stock model of the other cars right?

Yes, you do need to respect these old things with braking in time and then keeping the balance all the way through the corner till apex, then slam that right foot down :)

what sort of brake balance did you guys run? I run quite heavy on the rear compared to the default and need to manually "drag blip" the downshifts to prevent too much locking of the rears. This allows me to run a little deeper into the braking area whilst not killing the front tyres in the process. Backfire here is if I get the blips wrong I loose the rear end ...

Stefan, upon review of race 2 start... we did touch ever so lightly but according to my replay, you missed the wall and just skidded slightly right and kept position... i didn't see any damage or parts flying. Looked like you were past the wall when we made contact...

at least that's what my review showed.... honestly, i never saw you as I was looking to the apex and watching to not come down on anyone on my inside so I'm glad you didn't have huge damage...

I have to say I am preety pleased with how this event went for the whole field!

Demanding and tough is all you can say about a GT car here.............

Thanks UP FRONT to those who were able to race and participated!

Q: I had a good lap to grid 4th but I just pretty much ran my race setup to possibly disguise my speed. I did this based on the practice sheet and knew I'd start in the top 5 and would race well in the good old Mosler BUS!

R1: I get a good jump on Tyler in fronot of me as he has been caught napping I think. Stefan and I are dead nuts even with me inside to the chicane. I go to brake and push in the Clutch!!!!!!!!!! I slide past Stefan and get tagged in the door. I deservedly go right to the outside wall and get pinned by Tyler who is AGAIN awash in my opening race moron moves.

SORRY TO EVERYONE FOR SCREEWING IT UP AND ALLOWING KEITH TO SAIL AWAY.......

So i bear down and grind hard and take spots fairly quickly til I get to 3rd behind Stefan. We are matched on speed and it will only be a mistake that I will make any real gains. And then it happens! Stefan loops it in the dirt and I am within 1 second. HE goes agro again gifting me 2nd with about 10 mins to go.

I hold him off on a good gap and bring it home second! NIiiiiice!

R2 I get a really good start again. Keith is with me and I realize its possible we are racing for a win if we don't get caught up in a bad luck wreck etc. We both get to the front pretty fast and Stefan has a big lead on us. Keith passes me when I screw the pooch at the very fast right kink! damnit the sun angle has changed and I don;t pick up my mark at all!

So now I am chasing Glenn, Keith and Tyler. We get to the fast right leading onto the straight and Keith and Tylr are wide left and Glenn is on the Curb. I come thru at full tilt boogie and jump 3 spots to P2!!!!!!!! I am almost speechless when I see that gap! Like I should rub my eyes and make sure I aint seeing things....

So now I have to track done Stefan. I am sure he is as quick as me and I have Keith lurking bak at 4 seconds.

And then it happens again in the exact same spot. Stefan is in the weeds. Pops out and is still P1 then goes rig into the weeds again! I am gifted P1!!!!!

So now I have about 20 minutes to race Keith for the win. I have about 3.5 in hand for now. We slug it out and he eats up the gap to an average of 2 seconds and has a minor off.....he resumes and again he eats into the gap but I m mindful of the track first and not the clock or the gap timing now.

Keiths words of "hey your really starting to put some good races together" is ringing in my head.

So I "mind no mind" and just run the car and the track and eventually Keith has a bigger off and I am pretty clear with 4 mins to go.

I only screw up one corner and give up a second but thats it..........

A win in a GT car!!!!

So in the end I go 2,1 and tie Keith for the event win as well. Second time we've done that in the last coupkle of weeks.

Thanks again to all you guys who race with us in the ARC!

See you all soon!

Man, I really can't believe I did that. In both races after 10 minutes with big gaps to Eric. I pretty much had race 2 in the bag and then I went off 4 times within a lap losing a good 30 seconds or so. I have the pace, but I just can't seem to hold it together here lately. If I keep going like I am they are going to have to rename the "Barrick" to the "Werner!" lol

Any ways, congrats to both Eric and Keith on their wins.

Some very solid runs Eric. I did have a faster car than you, but I was making mistakes left and right throughout much of both races and I was no match for your consistency here today.
