That was a blast, thanks for the event.
One REALLY stupid question:
How do you confirm your selection in the pits? Really need to learn this game a bit more, but what fun.
Will be certain to get on TS next time out. Also got a Windows conflicting ip error when I exited the car, got to fix that one ASAP.

Lots of clean drivers here, hope I didn't hurt anyone race...........sure need to learn how to set up a car, but that default got faster with each lap.

Thanks again,
Peter

Quali was 6thish.... Going from memory here. Which wasn't bad for me as we have some super fast guys in this field of 13. I settled into a battle in the top 5 with a few of the really fast guys. Keith was up front, this I know... after that, I think I was battling peter who was in 4th, Stefan and Claudio which were just behind me. We were running a similar speed but were fast in different places which is dangerous and slows us both. Soon a 2 car battle became 3 car battle when stefan overtook Claudio, Stefan got a run on me and passed me before the turn BEFORE the bridge chicaine and I thought I could enter wide left and follow close but I busted up my aero and suspension. It turned out that I wasn't skilled enough to enter fast on another line and it was almost curtains for me... curtains I tell you.

It was lap 8 and so I immediately went in as I couldn't hold the car off the walls on the long straights. I got 4 tires and fixed all damage. I was so frustrated that I did that to myself and I almost hit the ole esc button.... but i persisted.... and man did it ever pay off.... I get back out and start pushing and after about 5 more laps, everyone had pitted... I came out of the pits in 10th or so... and at the end of the race had battled back to 5th. Not too bad for a race with a BIG mistake like that. The longer race format gave me a chance to get back in the game.

So race 2 saw me get a good start and follow race leader Eric Nelson out of T2 to the straight. He slowly began running away from me and it was only a matter of time until alien Keith caught and passed me. I believe it was again Stefan that overtook me and began to pace away from me as I settled into a comfortable 4th place. (but I'll double check this again to make sure I'm giving credit where credit is due). I don't know how but by the last 4 laps, I had lapped the 5th place car which I believe was Peter, so I knew I could cruise around and finish 4th... BUT I really wanted podium....

AND Then I heard those beautiful words uttered from fast guy Nelson's mouth. I've got a puncture!!!! So I blister around the next to last lap hoping to get a big lead on him as he tries to fix the tire.... and as I leave T2 he comes out with a bit of momentum from pit lane and actually passes me before the next series of turns..... BUT it wasn't to be. He couldnt hold as his car had damage and I easily cruised the rest of the last lap to a 12 second victory over the almost alien Eric Nelson (godfather of the American Racing club). Podium for me is good anytime!!! Especially with you bunch of yahoos. Later boys.

Peter, try to connect with us earlier in the week/weekend, we'll give you a setup. Also, have a pit preselected before the race and then when the menu comes up as you enter the pit, you need only to hit enter to confirm. Let me know if you need more help on this.

Nations week rolls on with the next to last installment of the series with FRANCE being honored for it's racing heritage.

The French just love BIG races! The 24 heurs du Mans is quite frankly the world's biggest endurance race period. Hell they even have a cycling race that goes 21 days! Racing is a massive passion of the French!

Did you know the French ran the first motor race in the world? In July of 1894 a race from Paris to Rouen took place! WOW!

The nation has produced not just incredible racing circuits but some very talented drivers in all disciplines of motosport!

Sebastien Loeb, Jean Alesi, Sebastien Bordais, Renee Arnoux, Alain Prost, Jean Todt have all driven Formula 1 or WRC! Prost winning 4 F1 World Driver's titles and Loeb having won 6 straight years in WRC!

So grab a Croissant for breakfast and a glass of wine with your dinner! It's time to celebrate the motorsports heritage of France!

Our schedule is tentative upon testing but this is the SOLID line up so far.

Sunday August 8th - GT Club @ Rouen Les Essarts

Monday August 9th - GT Pro at Le Mans '77 (mini Enduro)

Tuesday August 10th - International Formula Masters @ Nogaro 2004

New Zealand brings us a great track for Touring Cars! Nice rhythm and flow with enough room to race!

Should be one of the better events in touring cars this summer!

Powerbuilt Raceway at Ruapuna Park is a permanent motor racing circuit owned by Canterbury Car Club Inc. It is located in Hasketts Road, 13 kilometres (8.08 mi) northwest of Christchurch, New Zealand.
The circuit hosted 306 utilisation days and 40 events catering for all aspects of motorsport (both 2 wheeled and 4 wheeled). On 2 February and 3 February 2008, the Mainland Classic Committee ran a two day event called "Skope Motor Racing Classic" which is one of the events of Southern Festival of Speed. The two-day-event include practicing and racing on Saturday and racing in classes on Sunday in classic cars. Entries were limited to 200.
The track also features a drag strip, pit garages, racing school, speedway circuit and even a radio controlled car circuit. There are a number of configurations of the circuit with licences from FIA Grade 3 to National grades 1, 2 and 3.
The track hosted the 1998 and 1999 New Zealand Grand Prix. New Zealand born driver Simon Wills won both races in his Reynard 94D Holden.
