Slightly Mad Studios has officially announced a sequel to Project Cars today as Project Cars 2 is now official, and the WMD crowdfunding campaign has gone live.

Apparently the first big difference with the first title is that PCars 2 will feature off-road racing, along with Touge and Hillclimb events.

The crowdfunding tool-packs, which you can see on the WMD page, start from 50 British pounds and go all the way to 10,000 pounds.

Here's the shortlist of the PCars 2 features:
  • THE LARGEST TRACK ROSTER EVER – 50 unique locations and 200+ courses including ‘loose surface racing’ on dirt, gravel, mud, and snow. All will have dynamic time of day and weather allowing you to play anytime, anywhere
  • THE WIDEST VARIETY OF MOTORSPORTS with 8 different disciplines now including Rallycross, Hillclimbs, and Touge. 200+ cars from over 40 different vehicle classes including never-before-seen Concepts and Banned Race Cars
  • CO-OP CAREER – Play as the Teammate Driver, Spotter, Driver Swap, or Co-Pilot. More choices, more opportunities, more strategy, greater risks and greater rewards
  • SEAMLESSLY CONNECTED – Socialize and compete via Online Track Days, have players from around the world take the place of AI-controlled drivers in your solo play, and get news updates on the Driver Network around you
  • PRO ESPORTS RACING – Skill & Behavioural-based matchmaking, create your own Online Racing Leagues, and Live Broadcast and Spectator functionality
  • YOUR HOME FOR RACING – Your own personal, customisable Test Track to tune and test your cars. Invite others to showcase your passion for racing and learn race craft and engineering with the Project CARS Academy
Update: First videos already out on YouTube
Update 2: Videos have been removed from YouTube

When the modder's opened up shift2, some of the suspension data was out by 500%, obviously to make it easier to drive in some circumstances, the thing is there are some cars in shift3 that probably have similar discrepancies on top of mashfest on the brakes and inconsistent throttle.

In a real sim, you have to do more than just slam on the brakes and turn the wheel as fast as u can.

I didn't realise you were famous. I do apologise. Any chance of getting your autograph? :notworthy::notworthy::notworthy:
Very nice attitude dude!!! Thanks so much!!! I always forget that you are like a little kids but you are little kids so thats ok for you, no can do...

I dont give a if someone is the fastest on the face of Mars...
The attitude makes one a looser or a winner...
Oke and right now the correct attitude is to hate PC and Ian Bell as much as you can. But I cant hate as I like PC so much :)

So PC is very good sim, but it could have better AI and maybe there's some issues with MP, so why these issues were not problem earlier when this sim was wip project? You must inform the developer team not us, I can't fix any issues to this sim as every file is crypted LOL

I would take that with a large pinch of salt. Many mods have suspension data that is badly out - not all modders understand the physics engine, especially Shift modders. Also, what 500% error in the suspension would make a car easier to drive?

Is this the earlier version of Project CARS (see videos), it was named as C.A.R.S, it was a very ambitious project then and includes also that very old F1 car and Lotus F1... 5-4 years ago or earlier, maybe this is much older project as it looks almost ready...and there was also flying cows so its seems the same game :)

Edit:
You can find these videos from Youtube with following headers, very hard to find this great stuff...

I like online racing but only with the best drivers I can trust they dont do anything foolish like Alonso did for Kimi last sunday.

I think it's the best for everybody if you continue to hotlap in your bubble mate. It's funny how you built a post around being a mega racer and then blew it away showing you have no clue about racing. And this comes from the biggest Räikkönen fan out there.

I agree 100%. How Kimi spun in 5th gear is a head scratcher. I think Kimi doesn't focus. He can be the best, or he can make you scratch your head. Kimmo posts for effect. He loves the attention his posts get. This has to be the case; because no one can be on the wrong side of an argument every time. Can they?

I´m not even talking about the severety of the mistake, or theorizing about why he´s underperforming these days.

I´m just saying that from a racing perpective, no one with half a clue would blame a driver getting wiped out by someone losing their car just because he was at the wrong place, wrong time.

SPREAD THE WORD
Before voting with your money for Project CARS 2 think of how bad Wii U owners were treated and Remember they also had contribted their money on their version but look what happened.

Lets look back at the history of statements made by Slightly Mad Studio towards Wii U and the lies told. How great it all started to how bad it ended.

April 2013:

"What we´re going to make sure is that the Wii U version is not the worst
one, it won´t be a crappy version. We want people to get the game and
say `Holy s***, that looks amazing"

http://www.nintendolife.com/ne......

December 2013:

"The Wii U is more than capable of providing the core Project CARS
experience. Sure, some super-high-level graphical effects may not be
possible but in comparison it also offers a unique interaction
experience via the GamePad controller, with the second screen
potentially becoming your track map overview, rear-view mirror,
telemetry, or simply mimicking a real race car steering wheel whilst you
use the gyroscope to drive."

http://www.nintendolife.com/ne......

September 2014 :

" I've seen the Wii U version, I've seen it quite regularly. It's got dynamic time of day, weather - it looks phenomenal. And the actual console itself is quite good."

""It's not our job to disappoint those guys, So when we say the Wii U version is delayed in 2015 because we need a little more time, that's all it is. We just want to make sure it's of the same standard of all the other games. To do that, we just need a little more time."

"There is no conspiracy"

http://www.nintendolife.com/ne......

And comes...

May 2015 :

" OK I'll come clean. At the moment we're running at about 23FPS on the WiiU"

"We're awaiting/hoping for more of a hardware announcement at E3..."

(When it was made clear the by Iwata that a New hardware was not coming anytime soon or years for that matter)

Replies made to fans showing dissappointment on the situation.

"Oh please do. We really don't want people like you buying our games."

"You won't hear this elsewhere, but in the industry we call you 'The 2%'. You represent 2% of the purchases but create 98% of the hassle for developers by well, just what you've stated above. Going on channels to tell everyone 'don't buy this game!!' because you have some personal grief."

"Honestly, if your followers are like minded people we could chop a good chunk off of that 2% in one fell swoop. You'd be doing us a great favour.
Bye."

"Yup, and if you need to pass this on, we really dislike Nintendo fans"

http://forum.projectcarsgame.c......

Later the developer went on to clearify how the Wii U version of the game was always a "Maybe"

"It was always 'maybe' as we had no knowledge of the system."

"It (The Game) was changed, by vote of the members, to a PC/Xbox One/PS4 next gen game with still 'maybe Wii U' and Steam OS. The funding, as I said above, was closed long before this.

http://www.nintendolife.com/ne......

To be honest I question if there ever was a Wii U version of Project CARS. All these while the developer didn't show a "single" screenshot of the game, forget about gameplay footages and that they were hoping for a new hardware to be announced at this E3 was the worst posssible idea to play dumb. I think it's safe to assume that the Wii U version of Project CARS is all but cancelled.
Obviously there's money to be made on the Nintendo platform, so what do you think are the real reasons why this version of the game won't be made for the Wii?

Data checked and it says that Alonso hit Kimi's car before Kimi lost control, then Kimi hit his car, where's Alonsos incar video, where is other videos from other drivers behind Kimi??? Top secret stuff, Alonso did it purposely, also Kimi's Ferrari Team not work for Kimi...

:roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:
And did you see the data? Later I guess you talked to Alonso.
:roflmao:
Sorry for the OT.
Yes of cource as I'm Jesus, I can see everything. I can see that Alonso hit Kimi, there's also video, FIA also checked data...maybe you hanging too much here and don't know what happen outside RD LOL

So Alonso hit Kimi, that's why Alonso got penalty for Silverstone, they said that his engine was broken, but they said that yesterday, why this information comes now, accident happened 2 weeks ago :)

Alosonsonsson is frustrated because he must drive that slow macca and master driver Kimi can drive Ferrari, Alonso's favourite car he lost to Kimi...that's the truth!!! :roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::poop:

No and Yes. First, i'm one of the fastest driver in this planet and I don't cheat, few years ago I did laps nobody else didn't, speed is still there. Second PC is the only sim you can really enjoy just driving, I don't miss any races with this sim, it is just like I owns all those supercars, no other sim offers this. If you don't like PC so I can't help you, for me it's perfect. I don't care if some Ian Bell makes money, who is Ian Bell anyway, never heard...

Note that if Kunos add more grip to AC surfaces so I will love it also as much as I love PC, current solution sucks only because of poor grip, all cars are almost horrible to drive fast. There's so nice mods but the game ruin them...

This is some truly wild talk....

So you're basically claiming to be the (or one of the) fastest sim drivers in the land, yet you believe AC has too little grip at speed (and ~ all instances, but particularly at speed) when some of the fastest drivers actually say AC is too grippy at speed.... I really, really have to question your 'credentials'.

You use pcars AI to 'find speed' if it works okay on that track? I've yet to see the AI find a decent line through any of the more difficult corners on any track, their exit speed is atrocious due to early turn-in.

Let's be honest here... Nothing you've been saying supports your self-proclaimed alien status.

Anyways, will be interesting to see how this whole pcars2 thing develops. Let's just say I have my doubts.
