PC Upgrading Discussion

excellent... good luck with it all.

You will be flying around the track with extreme high res graphics in no time!

Literally I do based on my driving capabilities lol. I see what you mean though ;)

Let us know exactly what you ordered and stuff in the future too? :)

Enjoy building it.

RAM

So far only the above. Order has been processed and will be delivered next week on Thursday.

One more point, I'd recommened getting a 3rd party Heatsink & fan as the Intel one sucks.

Simon parts added to the list.

Mrs has approved. We all know once that happens the 700-800 quid can be stretched LOL.

Simon so the Ultra doesnt come with a fan? If thats the case then I am better of getting the Arctic to start with and when cash flow improves and building pc is second nature(in a decades time) I'll get Ultra.

Damian I looked at that link but there were a lot of people complaining about the reviews
Also does a sound card Improve the sound quality buy a massive difference? compared to using the motherboard sound

It will improve it a lot, but only really if you connect it properly to the speakers. With how yours is connected it won't make much difference as its only connected to the front speaker output from the onboard. If it was connected via optical or full 5.1 then it would be a worthwhile buy. Also, it needs to be a good sound card, such as a Creative X-FI Xtreme Music.

Ben, i would just stick to cases made by Thermaltake, Lian Li, Antec - also Gigabyte if its an Aurora.

The Mobo is compartible with Crossfire only right?

Now here comes anudda one

Crossfire vrs SLI

Price vrs Perfomance.

Should I stick with ATI, that 4870 card is on the mark with my budget, checked a GTX280 and I will need to start robbing banks to own one. But I also read that the GTX280 is way better than 4870. I just need to be slightly future proofed with the MOBO as maybe I'll be using multiple screens for racing.

Update: Buying the Arctic fan today. And missed delivery of Case and Ram yesterday, gutted.
