JaimeAlguersuari_207_1883.jpg Two pieces of news today.

Jamie Alguersuari has been confirmed as Toro Rosso's second driver, ending growing speculation about his future. The 19 year old Spanish driver was in competition with drivers such as Bruno Senna and Vitaly Petrov for the drive, but seems to have won over Toro Rosso bosses.

[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]Michael Schumacher will not be getting no.1 treatment at Mercedes this year, said Nobert Haug. He says he will have to earn number 1, as will Nico Rosberg, who is happy with the situation at Mercedes.

Any confirmation on this already Andy? Would mean a big loss for WTCC as he always did great work for every team he was in (with exception of the stunt he pulled when driving for Chevy:))

Jason Bargwanna's Holden, run by Kelly Racing, will be sponsored by Australian energy drink Rock, who supported his MINI Challenge team last year.

Also, after a lot of debate, with barbed words being spoken by both sides of the argument, the Ipswich 300 will go ahead in 2010. A one year agreement has been signed, keeping Queensland Raceway in the calendar.

The start of the V8 Supercar season at Yas Marina is less than three weeks away.

wow, honestly it looks great ;-)
clean & straightforward (i'm having trouble finding the right word) compared to the previous...

Well, they changed a 70's taste design for a 2K's taste design, but IMHO is still soon to know if they will survive the time with same dignity, I can remember several designs that looked really actual when they were released and ridiculous 5 years later.

I like them anyway, I think is a good work.

castrol.jpg Are you a statistics maniac?, AUTOSPORT and CASTROL released a new database of all drivers racing in the most popular series.

Further than more or less objective rankings, you can follow each driver's performance and compare them to make your own conclusions.

You can find it here

Now they have new logos but they should also put lot more effort to the GT1 WC website. Theres almost nothing. I'm sure there is much more news in that world at this point of year. 12 teams will test together next weekend at Paul Ricard, Salo signed to Corvette (well only to couple of races atm but anyway), etc...

It's World Championship serie but still doesn't look like it outside. I hope they are working with all this stuff and we'll see exciting racing year.

Agreed, i check it daily, only to see the same old stories again. Website doesnt look good either :(

But thats the downside with FIA championships, only F1 and WRC look cool, FIA WTCC and FIA GT always look 10 years too old

That doesnt make sense James :) The WRC site looks beautiful also.

Think about it. :) WRC and F1 is FIA's strongest points so they will spend more time supporting them. But F1 will always be FIA's Main Priority as it has the Biggest Fanbase. GT racing on the otherhand will get the shortend of the stick because the fanbase is so small compared to F1 and WRC.

Anyone know what channel i can watch the 2010 TC 2000 series on, in the UK. Seen some highlights of it, and it looks like a great series. If i cant get it through my tv il just watch it on a P2P site, but was hoping to watch it on the big screen lol.
