I just drove a few laps with some different cars and whoa! Was great. Nice flow and not any difficult parts at all. Amazing work. I like it!

Hi, i'm making my own provate version of the stcc scirocco from the gtr2 model, since the stcc version should be a lot more different (wing interior, wheels, etc etc). As for the windows, they have to be remapped to make then skinable. The only thing i didnt do was the wiper (lack of skills).
Just some preview:

I still can't custom skin windows to work- I've rechecked file names, formats and sizes and all seems ok. Has anyone else tried and suceeded?

I'm no modder, but I think this is because someone has misnamed the skinnable parts somewhere. It seems they've mixed up the interior/exterior window textures. Using the template skin for a quick test, I did this:

Code:
[[[Scirocco Test Team]]]
[[Test Driver]]
[Volkswagen Scirocco]

body=Scirocco_Body.dds
interiorwindow=Scirocco_Windows.dds

As you can see, it changed the exterior window instead. :rolleyes:

This is my first mod. I haven't converted anything from other games.
This is a preview version, there's still some areas where I want to increase the level of detail if I'll get time left.
Please don't change anything without my permission. If you want to convert this mod, please contact me.

Knut Omdal Tvieto for providing downforce information (I still have to do some research how to use it...)

Is it supposed to have max steering set to 12.5 degrees? And the grip seems pretty bad...

You can change the max steering lock in each cars .hdc file.

Code:
SteerLockRange=(5.0, 0.5, 16)

The first number is the minimum setting, the second number is how much each 'click' is worth, and the last number is how many adjustments (clicks) are available. (default is 5 minimum with 16 adjustments of 0.5, giving a max of 12.5)

As for the grip, I think there's too much. I'm getting times two seconds faster than WTCC cars at Donnington National, with the default setup and without even trying properly. Bear in mind this is just a preview though. Models are still in progress, so I expect physics are on the back burner at the moment.

The steering range were wery small on these cars because there wasn't much space for the wheels to turn.
http://www.youtube.com/user/fontheking5#p/search/8/3cbgcuhwFnk take a look at 4:30.
The rules were changed for '99 season, alowing the teams to cut bigger holes in the chassis.

The downforce of my cars are the same as the s2000 ones for now. Knut Omdal Tveito has provided downforce information and an .xls file how to use it, so there will be updated downforce later.

The engines and the weight of the cars are super touring ones.

As far as I know, the Super Touring cars were faster than the S2000 ones. Some drivers were quite disapointed about the power and grip of the new S2000 cars.

You can change the steering lock range yourself if you want. (it will result in the wheels turning through the chassis.)

Interesting, thanks for the info Andreas. I guess I automatically assumed 'older' would mean slower, or at least similar.

I've already made the change to the steering lock, but I think I might change it back. It would cause online mismatches, so I'd better get used to the default.

Thank you for reading :D

I really love the old BTCC, so I have watched the seasons a lot.
I hope you will get used to the steering, or you can change it:)

Collett Race Sport Saleen S7

This is a Saleen S7 in the colours of Richard Collett Truck Racing.

I work with the team and i photograph Richard racing out on the track. So with racing with you guys the Saleen is my weapon of choice! I then decided to add to the downloads here!

All the sponsors logo's etc are all real world sponsors of Richard.

For more info about Richard and the team go here: www.rctr.co.uk

Gunthar, can i "retro-fit" this so that I can pick up proper cams from the recent race that was there, or if i overwrite the existing version will it give me a mismatch?
