Honda S3000

The Beast:
Honda has already stolen hearts with the S2000 model and rumor has it that the top men at the Honda headquarters are sketching an Open Study Model concept car to take the high-end Honda series into the next decade. The S3000 will be the Honda that will compete with the best of the BMWs and Ferraris in terms of sportscar performance and we are already getting the probable look of the car. While the image of the depicted S3000 is just a rendition by basing the S2000 design as the prototype, it gives an early and fairly accurate impression of what we can expect from the S3000.
The Machine:
The S3000 is said to carry under its hood a 3.0 liter V6 engine in all likeliness and that will help the car in terms of speed, performance, smoothness of the ride and the acceleration. This will ensure that the S3000 will race from 0 to 60 in matter of under 5 seconds. The car also might come with a 4-cylinder Honda engine, but that looks unlikely as Honda will have to compete with other high-end sportscars that are going to hit the road by 2011.
The Thrill:
While we can try and guess the design and the features as much as we want, none but the Honda team knows how exactly the S3000 is taking shape. The car will be unveiled in 2011 and while the prospect of another V6 sportscar is too good to resist, Honda will hope this one has more success than the S2000. (from Automotto.org)

Ran a 8.12:xxx in pratice. It's just the fact it has no rear seats that puts me off. Altough I prefer to run the R26 with no passengers, I'm told by her who must be obeyed that sometimes we should pick people up(mostly her family) ;).

More Colors! :D

Aston Martin One-77

:becky:Aston Martin has released the first image of its newest flagship – the limited edition One-77. Details are scarce, but the One-77 will be powered by a hand-built 7.0-liter V12 nestled inside an aluminum and carbon fiber chassis. 0-60 times are estimated at 3.5-seconds, with a top speed cresting 200 mph.

77 examples of the £1 million coupe will be produced and customers will be able to customize the bespoke supercar to meet their individual tastes. The One-77 will be revealed later this year (Paris?) and will go on sale shortly afterwards.

This will be the first all-new vehicle from Aston Martin produced after the brand was sold by Ford to a group of investors spearheaded by Prodrive's David Richards. We're also curious to know if the One-77 will play a part in Project Alligator, the rumored collaboration between Aston and Mercedes-Benz. All details will be revealed in due time. Until then let your eyes feast on the only image we have of the upcoming One-77 supercar. (autoblog)

Only 77 of these being made - get your order in now

Volkswagen's Mid-Engine Sports-Car concept

If you can believe what you read on the Internet, Volkswagen will have a new mid-engine sports-car concept on display at the Los Angeles auto show this November — looking very similar to the photo-illustration seen here, we believe; think of it as a more real-world version of the Concept R from the 2003 Frankfurt show. Although VW/Audi officials deny "knowing anything about the car," one source did offer this interesting tidbit: "Porsche [a major shareholder of the VW group] fully supports what we're doing in the U.S. market, and is not suppressing our lineup whatsoever." We take that to mean the previous buzz that Porsche would never allow a mid-engine VW or Audi to market, for fears of losing Boxster sales, is not true.
We'll have to wait for the L.A. show to see the concept, and probably until 2011 for the production version, but we wouldn't be surprised to see this car with VW's 1.4-liter TSI turbocharged and supercharged 4-cylinder, making about 170 bhp, mated to a 7-speed twin-clutch DSG. If VW can keep the curb weight near the 2200-lb. mark that's being bandied about, this has the makings of a truly great little sports car.
What's more, Audi will most likely produce a higher-level version of this car as well, probably called the R4, as we wrote in our November 2007 "Future Shock" cover story. (RoadandTrack.com)

Yes, but I think turbocharged cars have their own magic. A V8 is still the reference in sport car industry, but turbos can be real fun if you know how to handle them :) .

If they make it rev up to or over 9000rpm's I'll be happy!

Peugeot RC HYmotion4

The Peugeot RC HYmotion4 is a four doors, four seats and four wheel drive coupe, that follows the two RC concepts presented back in 2002 and the 908 RC concept that made its debut two years ago, at the 2006 Paris Motor Show. Though, as expected, the concept will never make it into production, it previews several technologies Peugeot plans on introducing on its production vehicles. The powertrain features a 1.6 litre THP engine ?tted at the rear of the vehicle, combined with a 95 hp (70 kW) electric motor (powered by “lithium-ion” batteries recharged by an energy recovery system which operates during both deceleration and braking). The end result is a maximum power of 313 hp (230 kW), a fuel consumption of 4.5 litres/100 km (52.2 US mpg) and CO2 emissions in the combined cycle of only 109 g/km, or zero in electric only drive mode. However, though we’re talking about a hybrid, the performance figures are pretty impressive: 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.4 seconds, 80 to 120 km/h (50 - 75 mph) in just 3.0 seconds.
