Nvidia Video Cards + Drivers

Nice one Marcel ... just downloading and installing as I type - hope they help with the recent spate of instability MS seem to have introduced to my system once more :moneymouth:

Dual Display & Vista - Help

For those that have Vista you allready know the Nvidia Drivers dont allow you to stech the display over the two screens.

So what if any software is good for this or am I looking at the Matrox hardware to use this feature?.

two monitor Dual..to ungo in general.I tried Win Vista no good :( Maybe are not to correct win vista a SP2 no no instal..My win vista 64bit instal SP2 HDD over 500GB :(
Jarrod maybe Win 7 beta 5057 install 100% work Dual ;)

If I drop back down to XP the Nvidia driver will allow me to strech across the two. But it seems this option is not available within Vista.

So Im wondering is there some software or hardware that will allow me to do so over-riding what Vista says.

Jarrod ... there is something that emulates TH2G ... hang on searching for it now

... found it see my post here

EDIT: ermmm ... bit confused by this ... I run dual view and sli under vista and can stretch the likes of photoshop or premiere pro across two monitors.
Instead of running them "full screen, you simply switch to windowed and stretch the workspace across the two screens :wink2:

Right ... but running race 07 with only 2 monitors you said eh ... that is not going to work too well though as your in car or straight ahead view is going to have the thick black line of the monitor frames down the middle of it, will make you cross eyed mate. :wink2:

RE: "having to be in SLi", can you not run the cards independently?
I can do this if I want with my 2 nVidia 8800GT cards ... or maybe you could put two cards in sli and run the 3rd on its own, thus allowing you to run the application I posted above ... but to do it properly you need a 3rd monitor IMO.

(BTW: My wife is out with the kids, so I finally decided to nick her monitor from the laptop to test a 3 x 22" monitor setup with my 2 x graphics cards [needs to be set as non-sli to do this] ... PANORAMIALAND :woot: ... next up, to install that software and see if it works with Race07 :jump:)

You can set up SoftTH, which is the triplehead software solution to only 2 screens although it will render all 3. I have done it before and it works well.

You get the software here. http://www.kegetys.net/SoftTH/

if you only want to use 2 monitors, you dod something allong the lines of setting one of the monitors positions to -1, which makes it skip detection and therefore not fail when setting the resolution. on LHD I suggest you disbale the left and vise versa for RHD. What you'll end up with is like a lower version of action cam spread accross the 2 monitors, but wider so it includes the mirrors and steering wheel, motec display etc...

I can run Three monitors of each card (which looks cool). But at the moment I only have 2 TFT's and 1 CRT and I dont think I have enough desk space to do 3 TFT's.

x2 24" illy's take up alot of space trust me.

^^ That is what I point to in my post above and talk about testing a bit higher up here ... but didn't have his homepage, just linked to it from guru3d which has the beta 1.07 not 1.08 ... maybe the the 1.08 works with Evo and rF, but the 1.07 didn't want to here.

Still Jarrod ... 2 monitors is gonna be a bit weird to look at IMO?

The 3 x 22" Widescreens I have here fills the desk, so unless you got the king kong of desks, you would need a wall mount for 3 x monitors

Ive used it fine with 1.07 before but I had to turn of the "UseMultiHead" setting and explicitly set the the Left and Right resolutions.

1.08 just dropped it staright in and off I went.

8800GTS with 7050 slave.

I didn't like 2 monitors but then I did go to it from 3 when I had a few gfx probs so might be fine for you.

My monitors aren't that big Though I'd like them to be. Got space too on my desk which just happens to be the king kong of solid wood dining tables :D
