Nvidia Video Cards + Drivers

Hi there friends

if any one have any kind of breaks or something rare there an option on nividia control painel says set physx configuration put disable
it works fine with all graphics configuration at full

cheers

Just download these nvidia 182.06 drivers. Anyone running them yet??

I did download and install them for Vista 32. Before picking up Race07 i was mostly racing online GRID (touring cars). Despite the fact that they promised an 18% improvement in GRID performance, I found the opposite. May not be a problem in Race 07.

I rolled back to 177 as I'd like to continue playing both.

Hmmm interesting Willie. I suppose it's the old addage "if it ain't broke don't fix it"

trouble is I installed DoW 2 last night and in the graphics tab was an option for "Soft particles" whhich when I clicked on it said my current drivers didn't support it (180.xx) Now I have a half decent GFX card (8800 GTX 786MB) and was curious as to how this will improve the visuals.

My Race07/EVO is running sweet as a nut at the moment so no overwelming need to install new drivers. It's just .... curiosity killed the cat :laugh2:

I am curious but I am enjoying playing GTR Evo so much since my PC build that I will wait for sometime before updating graphic drivers. I am running the game on maximum detail at 1920x1080 without a single hiccup.

Question guys, will enabling Physx in the Nvidia control panel do anything eye candy to GTR Evo?

OK tried them tonight without any hitch

Played Race07/EVO didn't notice any difference,still nice and smooth:good:

Played GTL, thought it looked and played a little better :good:

Played Warhammer 40K Dawn of War 2, was able to switch on the soft particle option, so it definitely was driver restricted, flames looked a little better IMHO gameplay very smooth both on and offline :good:

So far so good. I'll see if the machine turns on OK tommorow, that's when I had trouble with the 180.xx last time, but a reinstall sorted them out. I'm hoping for no such shenanigans this time.:good:

Any game will benefit from it if they opt to use the tech but as you say its mainly found in fps's atm. Tom Clancy series are a good example, they've supported it for years right back when it was Ageia. It won't off you any extra on Race\Evo as it doesn't have the required support, physics calcs are done through the CPU. PhysX is mainly used for Particle effects and deformation.

You won't see any negative impact from having it turned on in games that don't use it but in some newer titles that do support it it can be better to turn it off\down to get the extra performance boost for a few extra frames a second if needed.

Switched on tonight with no problem at all, quick burst of DoW2 then, off to get a pint and watch the Hammers on the box.

COME ON YOU IRONS :victory:

drivers: graphics

new nvidia drivers are the best yet. definitely try the 182 series drivers.

Nvidia has released the Official Forceware 182.08 driver for Windows XP and Vista. These WHQL certified drivers are for the GeForce 6, 7, 8, 9 and 200 series. They add support for the new GeForce GTS 250, add SLI support for recent games, and have some fixes. The package also includes the 9.09.0203 PhysX drivers.

I have been running these for a couple of days now, since the 182.06 Betas started giving me the nvkldd...whateveritis graphics driver crash and recovery black screen for a few seconds issue again :frusty:
Haven't had that in months then suddenly it rears its head up again :nono:
(the only change to my system BTW was the damn windows defender definition updates )

Not seen issues with these new WHQL ones yet ... but too early to say for sure.
