Assetto Corsa Racing Club event
I didn't have enough time to practice (job commitments) and even I wasn't sure I would be on time for this event. But I managed it and I had surprisingly very good race with P8 in qualy, the highest position in my "career' here ;)

On quali I made my PB below 1:57. I could have even been faster, but one of the driver was coming back uncarefoully on the track and hit me, but anyway I was satisfied from my result.

On the race under a pressure I made few mistakes and lost my position to second tens, so I decided to make early pit stop. Later I had a nice drive with Steve till he decided to pit. So finaly I finished my race on the higher postion than my expactations before the race.

Hey guys!
What a race that was yesterday! I didn't drive the Mazda in a long time but thought I'd be familiar with it and I know Zandvoort very well so what should go wrong when joining with 1 minute of qualy left, eh? :whistling: :D

I quickly found out that you can't be fast in the little Mazda without some practice. The limit is quite a small area and the perfect flow is very important.

Anyway, I enjoyed the race a lot! I sadly spun 3x so couldn't really catch up to the main field but thanks to Colin and the Abarth, I had some tough company! :sneaky:

Sorry to Steve for cutting you off at the end of in one of the early laps. Looking at the replay, I simply took the corner normally but since I got pushed a bit wide while you went in a bit deeply and quicker than me, it looked very scary from your cockpit and I too would've taken evasive action.
Sad to see that Colin got collected badly in it :(

After a few laps between cars, I decided to pit early to have the track for myself until others would pit. Hoping to find a rhythm and gain a few seconds.
I did! But then I spun.. So I didn't really, lol :roflmao:

The second half of the race had me and Colin stuck behind the Abarth and boy that was the most tactical puzzle to solve in my simracing career!

I'm a bit proud about my very last lap though. Got me 5th fastest in the "best lap per driver" section on simresults :D

If you want to have a look at how Colin and I struggled, I recorded the battle while I enjoyed watching it with a nice coffee (in 2x speed).

One question to all of you from a battle mid race:
Was that a squeeze or was it totally fine? I can't decide and I would like your opinion on it. Not to blame anyone or anything! I'm just curious about your thoughts!
From my cockpit it looks tight, but not too tight if I would've had the nerves to not go over the inside.
From the other cockpit it looks like a squeeze to me though.
And looking from bird perspective, it looks fine, but risky.

Good race on my end today. Had some good battles and good close racing into the corners with probably half the field

Only real issue on my end was another screen freeze which cost me 4 seconds. Was really weird because my screen, wheel and audio froze, then it unfroze a couple seconds later and I was in the exact same spot, just minus 4s :O_o: Still my first few races on the new (used) computer, so need to figure that out. Not the first race it's happened in either :coffee:

Thanks for the sub hosting Brian. Now to decide which GT3 to take around here this weekend

Also don't think that was me Carsten during quali, though I appreciate the thoughtful words :) Might have been Raul?

It might be due to GPU or CPU overheating. Worth looking at the temps

Are you in tonight's Ligier race?
If you'd like, we could have a quick Discord screen sharing call to check a few things.
Do a mild "torture" test for CPU and GPU to check temperatures and also check the rendering + internet stats in AC.
Normally with internet issues, your own AC runs completely fine but you're rubberbanding for everyone else.
Audio+frame freezing on your own system means there's some issue that should be found quite easily when you know what to look for :)

While Rasmus is in debug mode does he have any idea why I always have high ping (200+) about 45mins into a race and it lasts for about 2 mins? Very odd. Normal ping is about 30

Heat was my guess. Had cleaned it out when i got it and there was a bit of dust. Could probably be cleaned further. Just put a little usb fan near the intake and noticed temps went down slightly. Running Ethernet w/300mbps down & up over here in the US, so ping is around 95, but stays solid.

And yeah, I'll be there at the race today. Down for a pc check up :) I really have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to hardware and settings with a computer that has a dedicated graphics card (It's my first one ) Thanks!

Sounds like package choke to me :cautious:
Sadly I'm only good with hardware, not so much with internet stuff.
Either someone else in your house causes a bandwidth issue, your own system causes a bandwidth issue or AC causes an issue.
That's not an easy task.. I'm not sure if there's a "net graph" monitoring app for AC. I know some e-sports shooters have stuff like that.

So basically you'd need to monitor these things:
- AC net stats
- Windows' net stats
- home net stats (your router menu probably)
- ethernet stats (also router menu)

And that for the full race to see where the issue happens mid race.

Depending on what's the cause, it's a very annoying task to do :(

Sweet! We'll check some stuff after the race then :)

What a great video! What a battle! Exactly what I was hoping for when I started this combo. Fierce battles but very respectful.
My opinion on the incident: I think it was your fault and you should have given him back the position. Your tyres were not in front of his rear tyres when he started his brake and turn in. And there was more space on your right side to avoid contact. But honestly I expected this to happen much earlier in the battle as Kimi drove sometimes strange lines in the corners, probably because of understeer with worn tyres.

Hehe my question was about the 3 Screenshots, where I went across the inside and spun (not in the pictures..).
But yeah I also hit the Abarth :whistling:

But I thought after defending "like a Lion" for 15 minutes, it was okay to make it stick that time :barefoot::poop:

Totally understandable!

What a great race that was! Didn't practice prior 20 minutes to qualy and so lacking experience and stock setup (actually in MX5 I don't change much except tire pressure, still not good at adjusting setups) I was so much off the pace, about two seconds so I thought this will be a race in the last third. But came qualy I got more into rhythm so I was glad with my position starting third.
Race was awesome, literally I guess this was one of the most intense, exhausting (had wrist pain after twenty minutes, massaging it on the straight:roflmao:) yet entertaining and most fun race I can remember. Had so much clean, great fights, thx all involved (Arne, Hank, Wayne, Jari, great stuff!).
So doing a late stop I did the overcut and came home second, the other guys just close behind.
Congrats to Allan, awesome pace and thx all for the great racing again.
cu next time

Congrats on the 2nd, Thomas. I guess I should have had it with the gap mid race and the 1:55.8 in quali. Was really pleased with that (PB for now), but Allan was in another league again.

As always I did the reverse Giovinazzi and lost a place at the start (Gio had the most positions gained on lap 1 in multiple seasons).

Was 5s clear 3rd prior to my pit stop, but was losing focus, so I thought maybe the stop with a short mind reset might fix that... it didn't. I missed the pit box by a car length and had to reverse. Additionally made 2 smaller and a huge mistake losing me more than these 5s in total and got me into a fight with Jari. With the slip stream he got me on the straight.

So there it was... fighting to the finish line then. And as always, I lost all my positions due to dumb mistakes because I was thinking about dinner or what to wear the next day or whatever :roflmao:

Had to retake a position from Hank, but the drag helped a lot with that. For the last lap I put on my focus pants and really got in there. Luckily Jari lost his, so I could unexpectedly pass him around the outside of turn 8, parking it on the apex of T9 to keep the position. A little "tap" into turn 10 required my left hand to spin the wheel while reaching for the shifter with the right, to keep the car on track. I really didn't expect a move into that turn, not sure if it was intended or just me braking early and Jari a little late

But either way, most likely the race with the most fights on my side and all those just because my brain did not want to get a safe 2nd :roflmao:

Here a video of my overtake on the 3/2nd to last lap of the race on Hank and then the last lap hunting down Jari (still being processed while posting it here, should be 1440p at some point)

It wasn't me... :coffee: Although my quali was decent and I found some midfield pace, I undid all my efforts early in the race by going off between Masters and Renault on my own... I was facing traffic and had to let everyone behind go first so recovery was slow, and I didn't help myself by going off again shortly after due to lack of grip and excess of throttle... a true amateur mistake. I bashed myself for it and considered quitting but that would have just proven my frustration right so I took a deep breath and focused on bringing up the rear with outmost decorum. It was a lonely race in no-mans land with a handful of fun moments when people started exiting the pits in front of me so I could chase them... All in all my worst race in months, but you have those from time to time so, looking forward to the next one. Congrats to the winners and podium placers, and a big shoutout to Brian @Interslice for checking on us, hope we all behaved well. :D Punishment would have been polishing his 1M after the race I heard. :roflmao:

Afaik only admins can see the linked usernames.
I'm not sure if Han and Brian can see them or if they have to ask in the internal forum and get someone who has access to give them the name.
Maybe @Neilski can help out?
He has access to a lot as is pretty quick usually :)

Ye previously we had needed @Neilski to dig out the occasional RD user names. But since we've moved on to 'PM for password', at the beginning of this year, myself, Han or Markus will have them all in our inbox somewhere.
If anyone finds themselves as douglas did just send us a pm.
