MGP14 MotoGp 14 Career Thread

Here you can share you career info, let us know what did you achieve as a young rider!

I'm currently racing for KTM ajo, but right after Mugello I've signed for the SKY VR 46 team (what a dream!) and I will be racing for them for the rest of the season. I'm playing on realistic difficulty, pro physics, so much fun!

I just found out Milestone put Test sessions in the career, just like in real life! There are test sessions in Mugello, Brno and Valencia (I guess here you start to work on the following season), the day after the race. Well done Milestone!

Rabat, Vinales and Kallio were in a 3 position fight in the last lap with me just about 3 seconds behind in 4th spot. The trio almost touched each other, forced to go wide and I took advantage of it :)
That is 5 out of 6 now, but a major twist is in the making!!! With the team atmosphere having become unacceptable I have been secretly taking meetings with other teams. And yes, the media will shortly announce that I have signed with Pons HP40!!!! Becoming Vinales and Salom's teammate. "I can't wait to bring home the Constructors Championship for my new guys...I'm gonna show VDS Racing what teamwork really is", Rene was quoted. Doesn't take a rocket science that there is obviously still bad blood between parties and one will have to wait how the season unfolds...

Home Grand Prix for me at the Sachsenring and I took full advantage of the crowd and a rain setup to dream about. First wet win of my Moto2 career.

Bad crash in practice left me with a broken left pinky toe.

Amazing Moto2 year, and so I was fielding offers from Movistar Yamaha, Ducati, Monster Yamaha, NGM Forward and LCR Honda.

So, I went with...here is the press release.

apa announcement:

Valencia, Nov. 8th, 2015

To the surprise of certainly the majority of us journalists, it was announced not more than 20 minutes ago that Rene Heger, freshly crowned Moto2 Champion will indeed move up to the Premiere Class and has signed a 2 year contract with the Ducati Factory Team. The contract also includes a mutual opt-out scenario after the first season. The salary was kept under wraps but is rumored to be around $855,000 + possible bonuses depending on results.

A surprise? For one, Yamaha clearly had the better season, finishing a strong 2nd behind Repsol Honda. So, if you have a contract from them on the table, but you go for Ducati it sends a message. The Ducati has arguably been the toughest Top Team bike to handle. Insane power, but the chassis and suspension have it in them. Only Casey Stoner managed to ride that bike to a World Championship in recent memory. Just a tough, tough bike to handle. Heger's move is reminiscent of Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher when he signed with the at the time depleted Ferrari team and brought them back to glory. However, at that point Schumacher had already won 2 titles in the Premiere Class, whereas "RKH's" 2 titles come from lower tier classes. It will be interesting to see what the young German rider can do, he certainly has all the backing he needs over there: Gigi Dall’Igna, the race engineer had this to say: "We are happy to add Rene to our team this year. I think he and Dovi will make a terrific pair and we can't wait to see what we can do this coming season."

Can he rival Marquez? Can he handle the Ducati? Will he get along with his teammate and staff? All this and more will be answered when we will hopefully see you at the 2016 Qatar GP.

2016 Grand Prix of Qatar. 1st Race of the Season.

Qualifying: 6th

Finish: 2nd

After a promising 2015 season finale test session in Valencia, Heger and the Italian factory team headed confidently into their 1st season and race together.
The German rider seemingly felt right at home and almost snagged his 1st victory in his 1st race in MotoGP. But, it was defending Champ Marc Marques that edged him out by 0.316 seconds. The duo was battling each other all race long, as were Pedrosa and Dovizioso.

Domination for the Ducati Team!! The long Indy straight helps big time and the rest stood no chance. First win in MotoGP with the Ducati Desmosedici Team!!

Rossi and Redding collide in the first corner and finish 11th and 16th respectively. This enabled a nice gap right away that I took full advantage of. Had a 2 second advantage after 2 1/2 laps and just floored it home. 2nd win with Ducati!!

Here we go again! The new dream pairing, Heger & Ducati...A match made in heaven! Very hard race, fighting alongside the 2 Repsol riders, barely edging them out in the last 2 laps. That's # 2, baby!!

Not sure what that is, but thanks for pointing it out. So focused on MotoGP atm that I never saw this.

EDIT: Got it, it is a bug. Just as the game crashes certain times, or suddenly you have the sky as the track, this is a calculation error that can occur. Hence, I have been using my excel format as it is nicer looking and always accurate.

What a race with Jorge Lorenzo! Unforgettable battle, switching positions many times and beat him out by 0.701 sec. Marquez 3rd, 1.548 sec behind winner "RKH".

Marc Marquez must be thinking this is the Twilight Zone. He has not won since the opener in Qatar and instead had to watch phenom "RKH" take 6 in a row, cushioning his lead in the World Championship. In quite an eerie way, this must somehow remind him of his own season in 2014 where he strung up 10 wins in a row. We are not there yet though...
