Modding Requests Thread

I don't. All of the cars are perfect, except Ferrari (I know, because I made them)
And, yes, the helmets are remaining for this mod to be complete, v1tek has a helmet project

Do you have any experience with helmets?

@v1tek does have a project, which I think includes 2014 helmets, but this might not be ready for a while. I think @Gerald Chinoy was going to produce some helmets, but I think he's producing more stuff for 2012 now.

I just really want a 14 mod, on whichever platform and think it would be a shame if modders split in different directions meaning we have no 14 mod.

If Gerald is producing for 2012, just copy/paste the helmets
And I am working on a HRT 2011 skin at the moment

I followed 2012 very closely, I have the 06 mod and 07 mod, both fantastic mods and I appreciate the benefit of 2012.

Again I appreciate that database mods have been done for 12 to create such mods, but there is no 14 database, mr pibb has made it clear he won't be making any name changes in an old platform.

Several modders are suggesting they are involved in making 14 skins in 2012, but so far we have a Ferrari, Mercedes and force India. These guys can't do it all on their own. There has been a close attempt made for every single team in 2013, this coupled with a database name change (performance can be done easily) means the most realistic chance of a 14 mod is in 2013 because only helmets are now required to complete a pretty close to 14 mod.

Yes the cars may not be 100% accurate but they are close and there is just to much work to do in 2012 I think. I think a 14 mod in 2012 would be great, but it might take just to long.
Wrong. I rather appreciate the cars made for f1 2012 than for f1 2013 because talented skinners like Gerald,Wilmer, chargincar do them. ( not to mention ML who's the best but he doesn't take part in it neither aagancia)

Unlike for f1 2013 where newbies do the cars and make numerous updates on their car in a week because they didn't work on them properly. By these problems I mean not updating all logos to high res only some of them. And also painting areas on the car inaccurately
And no mistake I was a newbie once too but I didn't make countless updates to my first cars. I tried to release them only once I was satisfied with it.

No, not wrong. Also for future reference 'wrong.' comes across as rude and arrogant, with no consideration for someone's opinion.

Great skins are now being produced for f12012, which is great. My point here is simple, great suits, helmets and a complete database mod are already available for f12013. Great looking skins, which may not be 100% accurate are available for every single team in f12013. Not liking the modders approach to updates or the final work not being to your liking, does not mean they simply stop existing.

This kind of belittling peoples efforts discourages new modders and leaves the community relying on a select group of modders, some of which have decided not to produce mods for different reasons.

I appreciate anyone's attempts, be it in 2012 or 2013, my point was that 2013 offers the most hope of a 2014 season currently, even if 2013 restricts modders, simply because more content is available. I think a 2012 mod for a 2014 season would be excellent, and I would praise those who produce it, I was just pointing out that 2013 offers the best option at the current time, with a lack of content for 2012.

I completely agree on your post. Constantly updated mods can be even better than any of you "experienced" modders do. You didn't give them a chance. But who would make mods if all of you experienced modders for some reason can't make mods anymore. What then? No one is making mods, because you demotivate "unexperienced" modders. Then you have to relay on the game's shittyness

Renember when you were a "newbie" What if people didn't pay attention to YOUR mods. Then you wouldn't be an "experienced" modder, right?
