Modding Questions Thread

No problem

I did make a joke in a way ..... emphasising that there is just nothing (zilch, nada .....) out there for this game representing 1960-1970's era. The joke obviously failed in translation ..... :)

I wasn't playing a joke on you

Sorry I thought you were only interested in the the very early classic cars.

A lot of people regard the late 1980's and 1990's as classics :)

Anyway, it was hard to find, because the 1997 mod was buried a deep in the website, and was never uploaded to our download section as a mod package, it is just a normal thread, and the mod is built up of separate files.

Anyway here it is, and I do not know if it is still a beta, or even if it is still being worked on. The last post in the thread was in April

Schifty's 1997 mod

Cheers :)

But what about what Melphiz said ?
"1997 for example is enough classic for me and for that exist all teams and even adjusted circuits"

Yeah, err, the teams are fine to go, I had uploaded a new language file and database in the comments but I still think, I didn't finish the database regarding the correct nationalities and such. The given files were incomplete regarding the nationalities and such.
As well the .ctf files are a bit squishy, ferrari e.g. has too much speed so M. Schumacher is driving like a red god usually. Well, I've adjusted all .ctf and database for myself (even replaced some drivers which were not driving in the 1997 season like Esteban Tuero instead of Ricardo Rosset :p) but for more competition rather than realistc '97 team values, so I never uploaded them for Schifty to put them into his mod.
I also have adjusted track files for absolutely no DRS at all for this mod but they also contain several other changes from weather and safety car mods.

Ah there are 1997 tracks as well (not sure if in the DL system already but each track had an own thread) which bring even more flair.

So, in summary you already have a nice 1997 full package of cars, teams, ciruits and such but they'd still need some adjustments ... but you can use SC Fix and ai files from snthennumbers' ai-mod for example with this whole mod.

Just a weather question...
Does anyone know why this happens?

The chance of rain % is at 65% when looking at the monitor from the default screen.

But, then when you view the weather forecast when you're "in" the monitor it's a different percentage:

Is it possible to have the car your controlling, controlled by the ai? there is a shortcut for this in rfactor and I would enjoy the challenge of setting up the car as an engineer of sorts, is there a mod for this and if not how could it be done?

I've searched, searched & searched again, but cannot find how to create a specocc file from my car livery. I swear I saw a tutorial / guidance somewhere?

Can someone point me in the right direction please?

Using Photoshop CS6 btw.
