PC1 Latest Build testing.

As you all know, Ian gave me a free pass to test the latest builds and that's what I have been doing for the last week. I will report here as and when I see fit to tell all about my findings.

But I will say that the latest build (296) is quite good. Now lets make some sense of my statement. I used a Lotus 98T in helmet cam using my antique MOMO red wheel and I can honestly report it is coming along much better than I anticipated. The actual feel and immersion is damn fine at this point. The handling is strange at first compared to say...RF2 and FVA, but it grows on you within minutes. At this point in time, this actual car feels good. I like it and I love the Milan circuit. The damage model has come on leaps and bounds.

I am doing some more testing all of next week using a G27 and I will also test some of the other cars that don't interest me as much (I am a F1 nut) and see how the feel in comparison to Shift 2, because that is what I was initially comparing PCars to.

I would like the replay function to have a directors mode though. Something that jumps from action to action and from car to car.

Aside from that, the replay's do crash my PC quite often but I understand that is being looked at.

I have been playing with controller settings but, the FFB still lacks front wheel grip FB - except when braking and locking the fronts. If you try to force the front wheels to over-steer - there is no edge at all to tell you where grip-loss occurs.

Are you using FFBTweakers_Formula_B.xml ?

^ To use switches such as the -A, -B and -C ones, you must edit the shortcut to the Launcher (right click, properties so that the target reads, e.g.:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\WMD\pCARS\pCarsLauncher.exe" -A
Then you must make sure that the right version is selected in the launcher before you start the sim..

I personally think this is coming along great now, Ben Collins feedback thread brings a great insight into the game and his feedback is definitely that of someone who is enjoying the move forward, he explains in great technical detail about things he experiences that do make sense.

Since they added the new tyre model properly to some of the street cars last week it is really impressive, driving the Pagani Huayra and Merc SLS was awesome, and all the physics refinements have not been put in place yet.

I know this is a hate breeding ground on these forums but I'm definitely starting to think SMS are very capable of prooving you people wrong, the game in terms of physics is leaps and bounds ahead of where it was, some cars are still crazy as hell and well off but if you follow the forums and the development you can understand why. When they said the Pagani Huayra was about to improve drastically, the patch came and it improved drastically, with plenty more to come.

If they can squeezee and tweak out all of the cars with this new tyre model they are definitely going to be coming out with a game that is a respectable and great racing simulation game.

I did a little searching but, didn't have any luck finding the file or info on how to use it. I'm sure if I put enough time in on the WMD forums, I can figure it out.

Go back to your precious WMD forums and leave this place alone or play nice and be civil. I am sure Bram and the other moderators are also getting fed up of trouble makers coming here too. We (or most of us) are not haters, we don't hate Pcars and we don't need or care about being proven wrong. So stop with the silly childish comments.

How do you know he's a WMD troll as you say ? Or are you using the difference of opinions as a base to consider him as one ?

I'm not even sure where to start with a reply like this, but this kind of attitude in response is exactly why I get the idea of "breeding hate" when I'm in these parts of the forums, nowhere else on the Race Department forums have I ever seen such an aggressive reply in a conversation.

These forums are not a breeding ground for hate. Stop inferring that. A lot of people here have negative opinions of the development because that's their opinion. It is allowed here. Unlike the WMD Forum where it is not. We all hope the finished game will prove us wrong but some of us doubt that. I didn't call anyone names or "haters", I am not a troll so get off your high horse. My post had nothing to do with opinions or whether you like the game, you seem to have read my post and missed absolutely everything that actually mattered so that you could find a way to reply to me as if i'm some kinda troll trying to tell people they can't have an opinion.

I can't help if you're looking for trouble when you're reading posts. You were the one who decided to reply to my post about Project CARS by calling me a childish troll who should go back to the Project CARS forums. You were the one who reacted to something only you seen, i dont see other members saying anything, but i bet your friends may show up to contradict me

It is known hatred about a game will always exist, some people will always live in their fanboyism world and whenever a new game is out the hatred is directed to it (im not calling anyone in specific or RD in general in order you missread it again) and that will lead to these endless discussions that never bring anything useful to the whole point of a thread.

Would be nice if instead of posting what each one hopes and dreams are there could be a little bit more of a constructive replies. For example, you mentioned you wished they could replicate GSC or Race07 but in what aspect? And could you elaborate in which car for example do you notice it and what can be done in order to improve it?

Ryan, i thought your post was fine until you said "hate breeding ground" and prove "you people" wrong. You are the dividing the forum by doing this. If you have read any of andy's posts lately you would know that he doesnt hate on the game. He is merely giving his opinion but it is in no way hatred, hes just expecting better. So while you had a well thought out post, you also decided segregate yourself from the ones who arent as happy and lable them as haters. There really hasnt been much sheer hate for pcars for months now, just guys giving honest opinions on what their experiences are. Maybe you should try to read some of these posts with a level head and dont assume we are haters. People are allowed to not like where its at and these guys have been very calm and cool while describing their dislikes. I feel like you are the one poking the bear here. If you walked into a group of black people and referred to them as "you people" youd have trouble on your hands. I agreed with some of your points tho and i like to read all sides of the wmd member base. I also agree that telling someone to go back to wmd forums isnt called for, but to pull a phrase from my five year old days, you started it

If people expected pcars to be at a different place than it is now, whats wrong with talking about it. I like knowing that some people look at it the same way that i do. I will admit that im not the best beta tester and i get tired of having to reset everything every week but im still out there turning laps and running multiplayer. I just dont want to have to tweak ffb to get it to feel right, im lazy like that. I dont understand why they cant take one of these ffb profiles that feel good and make it default. This isnt the place for developmental feedback tho, this is an open forum to express opinions

I never said you shouldnt, i said " if instead of posting what each one hopes and dreams are there could be a little bit more of a constructive replies." you can still do it but adding a bit of constructive criticism would add alot to it.
Its like if i said i dont like you, does this add much to the discussion? No, but if i added the why this could lead to a great discussion and probably to a solution on it.

Constructive criticism is not just for the workplace, it is supposed to be used everywhere and in every aspect of our lifes. When we disagree with something we should explain the why in order to avoid missunderstandings and people thinking badly about us just due to a comment it was made but not explained properly.

I understand the pain of having to delete profiles every single time some major change comes out but it is a necessity and something hard to avoid at the current stage of development.
And i also agree that not having a FFB file should be the default but this is what makes the game evolve, people find the best settings and share them with others, which leads to a major approval by the community and from them on it becomes the default, it happened recently with Jussi and Miagi car setups for the Focus RS and M1 ProCar and having your feedbacks is important since this could lead to the end of these discussion and maybe get to those feelings and hopes you seem to want.

Otherwise this will end up on a repeat the same thread where the usual comment is "I dont like it" repeated every single week, without nothing new to add and this isnt expressing an opinion is just plain bashing.

Now please back on topic. If someone want's to post something about the latest build here, positive or negative, feel free to do so without being called names. And if you don't like it, say so. If you do, say so, but whatever please type what you feel and don't be labelled up as "haters". This, as Nathan states, is not a development forum. On here we can say if we like Walmart coffee or we don't, and I wouldn't expect Walmart representatives (or investors) to come here and call us names.
