AC GT3 @ Bathurst - Sunday 15th May 2022

Assetto Corsa Racing Club event
For now though I am going to be silly and pick the 911. It's a personal goal to run a respectable race in it one day and where better place to learn it than a track that resembles a pinball table in places.

softening up and raising the suspension helps a lot in the wiggly woobly section up on the mountain in the 911 but it's a trade off compared to the long straights. Last time I've managed to do a 2:08 on this track, I think I ran the race on softs.

@Fiberoptix Maybe it will help you, maybe it won't. I've been running mid 2:09's with this setup on softs, though there's not much to do when it comes to overheating, the rear right turns bright red as you go from Park into Skyline... Changed camber, toe, ride hight, gearing, pressure etc. perhaps you can run with a little less downforce though I am hesitant.

Note that I ran a low 2:09.1 with the McLaren after 5 laps and only changing tyre pressure on softs, with comfy temps all around... Really the 911 is just not meant for this track in AC.

But it's fun, so much fun. Not sure why i keep gravitating towards it every time :D

EDIT: Looks like the CM Setup link doesn't work, will attach it here

Dark, foggy, and those purple interior lights :inlove: Someone has a good graphics card and some nice CSP settings :roflmao:

Glad the safety car wasn't out long, hopefully the field makes it through to sunrise without yellows.

Thanks Casper. I will give it a try.

PS 3
I did not like the degree to which the tyres slide, just too much, slicks tend to stick and give loads of side G forces, cannot remember them sliding so easily and readily.
Yeah, I have found the same on this game. I did two previous races in F3 and Formula Ford and both were the same, very slidey and felt like you were drifting around corners. I've driven the latter in real life so I had something to compare it too.

Hi all, I'm new to Club Racing (and also to Bathurst) so I'm not sure whether I really want to race this evening, but I'd like to join the practice server, is that possible?
Otherwise I could also come back next week when there's hopefully a track I'm familiar with and practice Bathurst offline in the mean time

I think you can join the practice server yes!

Though I would highly recommend joining tonight, there's no practice like joining a race!

Some say the z4 is the most user friendly car to start with.
a great choice to start with

except of the mercedes, every car is competetive (glickenhaus with a big *, only on some tracks). depends what suits you most but the z4 is imho the most forgiving car. superb on the brakes but lacks a bit of power

Love the Z4 , just as Andreas says, it has so many advantages, light , small, stable, just as quick as any other.
But as Andreas stated, a long circuit like Le-man’s and someone as quick as you, then you will be in trouble..
I just hate the engine sound. Feels a bit lame, no personality car.
Now I am not so into GT3 , I am now trying other cars more than I normally would.
like to put some effort into the Porsche, but I think it may take too much of my time, also not sure that there is enough of a resolution in the setup parameters to get it to where I would be happy with it.
I have put some effort in before. And then exited it, defeated, but there are so many probabilities available it is worth another visit.
I have been successful with the Mercedes, but again dropped it, I can be as quick or slow depending on your view point at SPA in the Mercedes, low 17 seconds. So it is there if you can extract it.
:):)

Hi Brian, could you send me the password as well?
Thanks in advance and hopefully see you on track!

Hi Arne. I will send you the password to register for the race sever. The practice server password is in the OP.

Make sure to read the rules and event details carefully before the race. If you don't want to race you could always just do the practice and qualy sessions.

Small issue with qualifying on this track.

The pit exit is alot faster/shorter than going through T1 so it is possible to set extremely fast times on the outlap, for anyone driving through the pits or those guys in the first pit boxes before the start finish.

Please don't set any fast times on your outlap. You might need to wait at the pit exit for 5 seconds.

I was going to shoot through the pit lane every lap, now everyone knows.

Hi Arne,

Yes join tonight although the GT3s are quite difficult to drive. If you want to get some more online experience, then the wednesday event with MAZDA MX5 is great for that.

Such a shame. PC was OK all the time in practice but in lap 2 of race I got several screen freezes for couple of seconds. Hopefully I didnt hit anyone. Damn PC. What a shame pace was quite OK and I was looking forward to this race.
Hope you had fun. Cu next time.
