A message to all Drivers

If you run off track, you must check to see that its clear before you re enter the track. Do not just keep the throttle pinned and pull back on track.
On re-entering the track stay off the racing line until you are up to race speed and do not block any fast approaching car.

Always try to re-enter the track parallel to the racing line.

When joining the track from the pits, remain inside the white line and stay off the racing line until you are up to speed.

During qualification, do not race on your out lap, let other drivers by.

Golden Rule
  1. If you hit somebody, sending them off the track and carry on like nothing happened, you take the risk of being banned for 30 days.
  2. Instead, you should always wait for the affected drivers, and that way you can be 100% sure you will not get a ban.
Track limits
  1. No more than 2 wheels over the white/yellow line without a lift of the gas please.
You will be penalized if you break our rules
Note: Please use your full real name in Discord. Not doing so may result in you being kicked from the server if an admin cannot identify you as a premium member.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • General video guide to multiclass racing - Click here
  • It is the responsibility of faster cars to safely overtake slower cars. When a faster car is overtaking a slower car (a car in a different class), whether a blue flag is being shown to the slower car or not, the slower car should be predictable and remain on the racing line. The faster car should execute the overtake only when it is safe to do so.
  • If a faster car is lapping another car in the same class, the normal gentleman's rule applies; some cooperation may be required to facilitate the overtake, usually a slight lift at the start of a straight. Please be sensible.
  • Separate qualification runs will happen for GT3 and GT4 classes. First 10 minutes for GT3, second 10 minutes for GT4. GT4 cars must not exit the pits before 10 minutes have elapsed. GT3 must not start a lap after 10 minutes have elapsed. You may be kicked from the server by race control if you ignore this rule.
  • All other Racing Club Rules still apply to this event.
  • Discord is highly recommended for all club races.

In with the Ginetta

Though seeing as 7 of the 8 currently signed up are also ginettas (the secrets getting out I guess ;)) I'm open to changing to GT3 if that needs more drivers. Haven't really driven them much recently and this is a nice wide track to get reacquainted :coffee:

I've switched to the Ferrari anyway. It's a nice track in a Gt3 car for sure.

There will surely be a few of the GT3 regulars along soon enough :)

Can anyone help? - I want to get into online racing but would only like to use the practice server at the moment. I have gone to the SimracingGP site but can't seem to find the practice server. All I can find is the event server and the password stipulated above does not work. I have been SimRacing for many years but not online, so I wanted to try it without going into a race. Any help is appreciated. Thankyou

Hi mark! Recently our passwords have been distributed via PM, the Road Atlanta event had a lot of new people join that didn't read the rules and/or adhered to the racing rules without having anyway to be reached via communications. Since then @Interslice gives away the sign up password via PM and I am sure he can help you out with that!

The server itself can be found by typing in "racedepartment" in the search box in content manager(I presume you use this awesome application ;) )

Thank you I have found it. Yes, I use Content Manager. Could not do without it. I will get some practice before I sign up for a race as I don't want to ruin it for others! - Thanks again

Don't worry too much about ruining other people's races. Don't dive bomb in lap 1 and other then that remain predictable on the racing line for faster cars to overtake you. If you get a blue flag for your own class just lift the throttle a little on the straights, and if you have faster classes passing you then they have to do it safely(preferably on the straights).

I'd highly recommend just jumping in and joining tonight, there's a ton to learn and a welcoming community!

Me too Casper great advice for a first race. I used to start from the back and just focus on staying on track and out of incidents. You often even pick up a couple of places if you stay out of the pack first lap. My first race here and ever online was Brands Hatch with a full grid of GT3s. I was very nervous when I saw how fast everybody was. I made a lot of mistakes, I was lapped by everybody some twice but I focused on not getting in anybody's way and running my own race. Everybody here started like that I am sure and pondered whether they are ready to race online yet. My advice is you only get better if you race real people. There are some amazingly fast drivers who race here and you learn a lot by watching them. This club is very friendly and helpful too so a great place to start. Hope we see you on track later Mark.
