AC GT @ Bathurst - Sunday 21st August 2022

Assetto Corsa Racing Club event
Custom track temp is limited to 36, but if you turn that off it will always give you the recommended temp, based on the air temp.
In this case your air temp would be slightly out, but it has far less effect on the tyres. It mostly effects the power.
Not sure if you can do any more than that, maybe there is a config file for single player.

I was messing with temps alot for this one to try and balance the cars. In hindsight I may have gotten it a bit wrong :( Made a few quick runs in hotlap mode at low temps to try and see the P4/5's potential and what the aliens would do on softs in qualy. The super softs run really nice at 11 air, 23 track :) There was no decent times on RSR to compare and the 911 time was obviously a cheater. 1:15 or something daft. Maybe there is a shortcut across the mountain! I guess from this an alien pole would have been in the mid to low 2:08's last night. Maybe a high 2:07 in the 911...

Nice lap Brian. I was clearly in the wrong gear for most of the corners - staying high but you were a gear lower. What splitter/ rear wing were you using?

Mixed feelings of my race. Qualified 3rd but Daniel behind me stayed within 1s until my pitstop. I made many small mistakes and Brian in front could create a gap of more than 10s. After all pitstops I was suprisingly first with Hank on my tail. When he made a small mistake I had a gap of 2,5s which should have been enough for the win. But in the last lap I shifted wrong on the top of the hill towards the dipper, causing understeer and hitting the wall. Hank could pass and take the win. Although he certainly deserved it with his better pace, for me it was very disappointing to loose it at the end.
So I had battles with Daniel and Hank almost the whole race but to be honest, I like chasing more than being chased.

Anyway, I think there was some great racing in this event from all of you. Thanks all for joining. Congrats to Hank and Brian and Brian also for organizing.

EDIT: I really liked this combo. And I wouldn't mind a 911 Cup single event either.
How does it compare to the G55 GT4?

I was running the stock setup, just using the super soft tyres. 0-4 wing? Its at the end of the video. A box this car ticked for me is the nice stock setup. Were you shifting early by any chance? I know sidekick was suggesting an early shift. I probably could have went into the hairpin in 4th on that lap. You can sometimes loose the rear up the banking doing that, especially if the tyres are cooked. I try to get the hairpin itself spot on for obvious reasons. Only so much time to be lost on the right hander over the crest.

The mountain is a big momentum section from T4 to the hairpin. Really important to balance the car with the throttle through the fast lefts and be off the brake completely over the crest into the dipper bus-stop or the front tyres will bite and the car will go all wobbly!

You managed my pressure quite well, Han, well done! A couple of times I saw you doing little mistakes in the dipper which I expected to be enough to pass you but you saved the situations in a great way ;)

Hard luck Han :( You had great pace and consistency in that second stint.

I manage an easy-to-do 2-08-0.8 on normal every week GT3 track temperatures, so Fulvio, etc, etc would have been well in the 2-06.
Also, the rest of our P4 group would have also gained the same time. ( I never used SS )
From my point of view, I went for mediums in qualifying, but to no avail, so I abandoned that.
But this is the problem, in fairness, the Porsche would have been handicapped with GT3 temps, just as ironically the GT3 Porsche is handicapped in GT3, with soft's being its Achilles heal for most of us.
I certainly did not feel short-changed and had some great battles with the Porsche and would re-run this again, happily living the 38 deg track temperatures favouring the Porsche.
As I said, I was always on the back foot here, but that is no bad thing, I was always going to get out dragged to the first corner, I was always going to get overtaken on the straights.
But once I got enough of a gap I had an excellent chance of maintaining a gap.
Most of my lap times were slower because, if a Porsche was in front I was always handicapped by the Porsche time, and had no hope of an overtake.

It would have been a dull race without these track temps, one mistake from the Porsche and catching the P4 would have been very difficult. Mainly because we would have gained 2 seconds in the P4 and the Porsche would have lost time.
It is a successful combination, as with the Mazda and Abarth.

I cannot use the word Rotter for the Porsche drivers, will need to find another insult now.

Ernie, may I suggest for your next citytrip The Netherlands to a city called Rotterdam?

Thanks for your perspective ernie. You would have been right with us if you had a better qualy and start.

If we run them again I'd be tempted to try the medium on the P4/5 and mess with diff power and the aero to try and gain front grip back and more straight line speed. Maybe 1-3 or 1-2 aero would work with the mediums.
The P4/5 felt alot faster to me in the high load aero corners. Not many on this track maybe 2 or 3. RSR has it over a second faster at Spa.

No matter what I set the max air temp, it still limits the track temp to 36C. Note that I have "Custom road temp"off and the recommended should be 51C - but it still stays at 36 in game. Any Idea what I'm doing wrong?

I ran 0 -4, running 0-0 I was quicker on the straights, obviously, but the overall lap time was slower.
I went for standard setup, with the little time I had with this car, altering the setup seemed to mess with its overall performance.
I would have liked to put a lot of time trying to get a better setup, and then I get the feeling, after all that I would end up with standard setup, some cars are just like that.
Any problems I had with this event was 100% down to Bathurst, and every car I have driven here.:roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:

If I switch off Weather FX in CSP (V0.1.78) then it works OK.
Can you see if you have Weather FX enabled?
I've tested with WeatherFX active and inactive. With it active (as it was for me) I see a maximum Road temp of 36C regardless of what CM says. With it disabled then I see the temp as shown in CM. So well found Colin; a bit annoying that this problem occurs but at least there is a workaround (of temporarily turning off WeatherFX if I need to test/practice higher road temps offline), thanks.
