No big surprises in quali
Usual picture as of late, with Tim Engberink topping the timesheets, beating Ben Utzer who had to settle for 2nd. Same picture in the 2nd row, Lintner with a strong lap in 3rd alongside Jimmy Laad. Behind them the remaining 3 of the top 4 in the WDC, Goddard, Kederer, and Brugman. Diehl, Said and Rinneaho complete the top 10.

4-way fight for the title
Tim Engberink took the win at the Belgian GP, bringing him a lot closer to 1st in the standings as Kederer again retired. With Brugman in 2nd and Goddard in 3rd, the top 4 are now separated by only 10 points.
Renault took a 1-2 lead at the start, although there almost was trouble as Lintner slightly bumped into Engberink's rear under braking for La Source. Laad lost 2 places to Goddard and Kederer in the first lap. Both Williams' dropped back the next few laps, Utzer was down to 6th, while Laad lost even more and was in 12th. Engberink pulled away from teammate Lintner, while Kederer in 3rd slowly closed the gap to 2nd. Goddard and Brugman couldn't quite follow, but still increased the gap to Utzer, who had to defend against Hunsley and Rinneaho.
Engberink kept the lead after the first round of stops. Kederer could get past Lintner, but was still in 3rd as one stopper Diehl was now in 2nd. Goddard and Brugman follwed behind Lintner. Hunsley had a slow stop and lost a few places, Rineaho could get past both the Jordan and Utzer to 8th. Diehl pitted around the halfway point, dropping to 12th. Engberink was 11seconds ahead of Kederer at that point. Lintner followed another 5s behind, with Goddard and Brugman right at his back. Lintner retired in lap 24 when his engine blew up. Until that point he had held on to 3rd.
The final stops came, and they somewhat brought a change as Kederer retired with an engine failure right after his stop. Engberink now had a comfortable lead over Goddard, who still had Brugman right behind him. Rinneaho was running in 4th, Sigoulakis was in 5th. Utzer was back in the points in 6th. Hunsley, Said, Keranen and Black completed the top 10. While Engberink took an easy win Goddard couldn't hold on to 2nd, he had to let Brugman go past in the penultimate lap. The rest of the top 6 remained unchanged. Behind them Keranen worked up to 7th, only just missing out on a point in the end.
