DTK DOMINATE IN SYDNEY
1603811397437.png

Nico Hulkenberg passed pole-sitter Antonio Felix da Costa when he was held up by lapped traffic to take victory in Australia. They lapped most cars as the combination of decent drivers and high downforce gave them a strong advantage. Alexander Rossi seemed to be looking strong enough to challenge the DTKs, but he was unable to pass the Kas and Red night cars, all of which had exception top speed, making passing them and keeping the position very difficult.
All the drivers three-stopped as tyre wear was high, leading to the Harvey's following the Kas drivers home, ahead of John Watson in the local 2KF1 team's car. Dixon scored his first points ahead of the frustrated Rossi. The new team, Choppa Speed, got both drivers to the finish ahead of Stirling Moss, although that was due to the Red Night driver spent the last few laps stuck in 4th gear.

MARKET IS OPEN

Interviews
@Kas. @Sasha Jednak, the updates to power you did seemed to work, but it left you struggling to pass each other and unable to keep up with DTK. Did you make a wrong choice last market?
@Aidan Keranen, it wasn't quite a podium, but 7th place at your home race isn't bad, is it?
@Andri Luka, for a first race, 10th and 11th place is pretty good. What are your targets for the season as a whole?

I mean, it really is. We're already a lap down in race 2 of the season. To spend 900 credits on trying to make the car more reliable and ours is the first of the race to break down at less than half distance?
I mean.. what was good?

No, if we had a choice we would done it again. That said, we continue to be consistent for all 3 seasons, after good result and having chance for actually fighting for something everything goes *** in next race. Sponsors already cut us for this race and we are not sure if we can get them on board for future. :(

Absolutely not it was the best result I could have possibly gotten after our disappointing Brazilian grand prix. With limited funding getting a 3rd and 4th and having the ability to just park my car in front of the others was perfect

ROSSI OVERCOMES DEFICIT TO TAKE STUNNING WIN

Alexander Rossi scored Excelsior's first ever GFA victory with a stunning penultimate lap overtake on Stirling Moss. The straight-line speed of the Red Night irritated John Watson and Rossi at different points in the race, but Rossi found a gap entering the stadium section to finally pass Moss in a place he couldn't respond. Watson should have been in the fight, as should his team mate Hakkinen, but both 2KF1's retired from the race despite their best ever qualifying. DTK Racing went through at least 5 front wings in the race, but still ended up 4th and 7th, behind Pavlovic who had a quiet race to 3rd. The Harvey's surrounded Prost, as Prost and Phil Hill both scored their first points of the season to make sure every driver has now got points.

MARKET IS OPEN

@rubaru, it's been a long time coming at the back of the grid, but now you're a GFA race winning team. How does that feel?
@Sasha Jednak, Stirling defended valiantly, but a lack of cornering speed held him back despite being so fast down the straights, do you think that's a problem you can solve?
@the_sigman, your drivers seem to end up in a lot of incidents. What can you do to get them out of those situations?

I'm just so proud of the team and their desire to keep working hard to be better than the last race. The first two seasons were obviously a struggle in trying to figure out the car and just making it work better. This season started as another question mark, but we got it right with some of the upgrades it would seem. Super happy for Alex, and it was a special delight to see Phil do well enough for P6 today. He started out pretty low on the grid, but his tenacity kept him in the fight all afternoon.
