AMS2 Ginetta G58 @ Oulton Park Classic, Thursday 9th March

Automobilista 2 Racing Club event
Ok all, I'm still reviewing the replays to ensure I have captured all the breaches of the golden rule that occurred and I'll be PMing those that did after work tonight with a reminder of why we have it in place.

This is a warning to all though - with me, you will get one and only one gentle reminder - after that I will be acting on the assumption that the rule is fully understood

Can I also remind everyone of the other rule we have which is: to discuss incidents private and calmly - often a PM can resolve things quickly and if it doesn't, escalate it to me or another member of staff. Please don't start venting in the public thread as that just tends to escalate rather than help resolve the issue. I am guilty of this one too, as I should not have responded to certain queries in the thread either. Apologies to all.

Looking at the replays so far, I suspect a very fast car on a tricky track didn't help, but I want to be clear, the golden rule is there to make you think twice about what you are doing or about to do, by ensuring that if you wreck someone else's race, you wreck your race too.

I'd also like to make one other request. If you get knocked off and no one takes responsibility over discord to ask if it's ok to proceed, please let me know after the race. I don't need details, just a quick 'got tagged around lap 3'. I know the likes of Bas and a few others don't really mind when it happens as we know it's unlikely to be intentional, but I'd like to just reinforce the principles of the golden rule, even when there is no real dispute to try and keep everyone more mindful when racing together.

We are having fun racing together chaps, let's try and keep it nice and respectful at all times

Scott, I appreciate your effort regarding this situation but honestly, I can drop it and forget about it. The results don't matter to me especially since I did overwhelmingly better than expected and had an incredibly fun time with the tight racing between us. Watching you get closer and closer lap after lap in my rear view was great fun and kept me on my toes. :)

My only concern is that I've seen this overly aggressive, "win at any cost" type of driving at race starts muscling for position in the past here in club races that led me to lose interest in joining and eventually sim racing completely and I don't want to see that happening on a consistent basis. I haven't seen the replay, so I can't see what really transpired behind me at the race start but I was taken out well before turn 1, before I was even in 3rd gear, and I find it hard to believe that whomever drove into the back of me and forced me into the wall had no idea it happened. Do what you have to do to enforce the rules but to me, it's water under the bridge and I harbor no hard feelings toward anyone.

That said, I'm excited to see what future car/track combos you choose and would be more than happy to join if my schedule allows. Thanks for organizing everything and putting so much effort into ensuring everyone has a great time!

I'm glad you had a bit of fun in the end Steve and thanks for being understanding of the incident. Hopefully we will get a bit more close racing in the weeks to come

I think I can safely say that no one in the event would have been happy knowing they had gained a position by disadvantaging someone else and I'm just trying to make my stance on this clear as I'm new to running the races. I think it's testament to everyone involved that this is first time the golden rule has come up though, as generally the racing is very respectful and a bit of reminder is probably all that is needed.

Hello friends, I have only now come to answer again. The race on the last Thursday was indeed very bumpy.
Sorry if I don't speak in Discord my English is unfortunately too bad.

I watched the replay of the race. On the first lap (I think it was BAS) I lightly touched the rear of a car and the car hit the wall hard. I would like to apologise retrospectively for this.
I myself did not notice anything about the shock. Ok, sorry again BAS.
