Cars Furia

Well, I've been procrastinating the creation of this thread for so long that the original place where once it was intended to be, no longer exists LOL thanks RD to provide us a new home.

The car history:

The car was made by Ottorino "Toni" Bianco or simply Toni Bianco, a very talented and well know "carroziere" that was one of the most important figures in Brazilian motorsport at the time, responsible for dozens of race cars in the 60's and 70's, working with aluminium and fiberglass.

In 1970 he opened his own workshop Furia Auto Esporte LTDA in Sao Paulo, which was to build racing vehicles under the brand Furia. In total, it established at least five cars, which used engines from Alfa Romeo, BMW, Chevrolet, Ferrari and Dodge. In 1972 one of the Furias was built on the basis of a Lamborghini Miura which was totaled by it's owner in a road crash. Toni bought the car remains and in 17 days and 17 nights build the "Furia Lamborghini" taking medicines to not sleep.

The original chassis of the car was replaced by chrome-molybdenum tubular frame, designed a new independent suspension with elements of the original, the wheelbase was reduced to 234 centimeters. Centrally located, the V12 with a capacity of 3.9 liters remains with the original specifications. The power is around 370 hp at a weight of the car reaching only 750 kg had an estimated max speed of 320 km/h.

Furia Lamborghini survived on Brazilian tracks only one season. It raced the "XIII 500 Quilômetros de Interlagos" in 1972, finishing in 8th place driven by Jayme Silva. After the end of races the car was sold at the end of 1972 to a certain collector.

Accordly to the latest know info about the car, it remains abandoned in a garage of a mansion in São Paulo as part of a legal dispute.

The car's last know picture abandoned in that garage

The model:

At this point it's 220K triangles so far but not much optimized, which 35k are from the interior, still some details to be add in the front suspension and interior and I'm aiming for 250K triangles for the final model. I had to simplify a lot of details in the mechanics but I think is a somewhat good amount of detail left for a game model.
Keep in mind that this car is made without any blueprints, only with a small number of old photos which emerged from nowhere last year here, them sometime later I discovered the source of the photos which you can see here.

That's it, I hope you guys like it.
It's a bit difficult to resume months of work into a single post :D you know.
I'll try to post more updates soon as they happen.

Wow! Never heard of it but I like it already! looking at the shots I kept thinking it would be at home at RIR and then I see the last shot! Any idea when you might be finished?

Car looks amazing and your model looks better than the real car! My only concern is that it looks like its just waiting to kill the first unsuspecting driver who's foolish enough to hammer the throttle :cautious::D

Yeah just feels at home both in RIR or Bridgehampton, amazing tracks which sadly had a similar fate, just like this car.
It's a bit difficult to gave an ET.A. but I really wish to finish it at the end of this year or in the wcs at the beginning (Q1) of the next. My plan is to not release any betas, just the final version, so there's a lot of things to do yet.

Never seen or heard of this car before.

How awesome it is ! Very entertaining car, and perfectly done already. I'm a bit jealous about driver animation lol I have fixed mine but still, it is not there. Have you used rig from the_meco ? I found it necessary to make driver shorter lol (by default his driver is 1.85m tall).

I was really surprised to spot Jag there, thanks :D

It will not have sound from Kitrinos Kat Miura ? Sounds different, but very good anyway.

Thanks!
Yes, I'm using the_meco's rig, it's really usefull. But I always do some adjustments for every car. In this case in particular the driver position was very trick to get right, let's say that ergonomics weren't a thing in the 70's :D so I had to do little adjustments in the car to fit the driver.
It's a kind of compromise, you know, but I can live with that.

The sounds will be made by Nil (DRM team) and may change a lot in the final version
