Maybe the truck was modern enough to come with an app to check if it's closed etc. and the default screen is the "dashboard".
Would make sense, because the car can send messages to the app

It's definitely possible!

My wife's new car has an app. It pinged her asking if she would like to lock the door when she forgot to lock the doors inside our garage. It lets her know the air pressure, fluid levels etc.. So yes, definitely possible that an AI self-driving car could leave you a message on that app.

I'll admit I can't imagine why anyone would buy/build something like that. Seems as good a reason as any.
