Ermz take and his FFB settings
I followed this guide. In the end I ended up raising the pneumatic trail up to 120. I guess I really like the feel of tires to be more pronounced. Too bad it's not up to the level of some of the hardcore sims noted for their tire feel. If FM had this feel, I'd be happy. Perhaps Turn 10 will figure it out in the future?
Tires aside, but probably related; I'm having problems with oscillations when I take my hand off the wheel. This will be problematic if I ever try to drift in FM. The handful of times I tried catching a slide by releasing and re-grabbing the wheel, it was a trip to instant snap oversteer city. I feel I should add more damper, but when I have high damper on the CSL DD, the wheel feels grainy. So, I stuck with Ermin's suggested damper setting here, but the wheel unwinds extremely fast.
Perhaps the self-aligning torque tends to overshoot alignment, and then the center spring is probably overcompensating and creating the oscillation cycle? If I could calm this down, I would have a decent setup. But working on it, doesn't sound appealing when I just want to get on track and race.
