Welcome to the RD Racing Club.

In honour of the upcoming Le Mans 2024 we're recreating the iconic Ford v Ferrari battle from 1967 on the very same circuit.

This will be an hour long race with 24hr day transition - so make sure you have CSP and SOL installed with WeatherFX enabled.

I'd just watched the Le Mans 66 movie and started driving these classics - that's got to be a sign, doesn't it? =)
By the way, could you PM me the server password, please?

Hi Colin, this track had a massive update this year with all credits given to the original modders. It is on the Breathe tracklist site with a download link. Finding reuploading old versions a depressing backward step and getting harder as less and less modders are using this site to post mods. It is the same mod with a tuneup, surely it can be used

I'm restricted on the links I can add to a post and it being on OT is the only sure sign I can use it. Could you contact the mod'er and ask him to upload it to OT?

I have done that a few times. They are not keen as the mods are often removed. I will try to contact him and ask. Not your fault Colin, but the issue is coming to a head i think as we get further mods updated but not published on here. It feels like we are restricted to using an old game while it continues to evolve before our eyes. Probably a reason why our numbers are dropping off maybe? I think it was only a new skin, i will try to find more info and ask.

Racinjoe013 uploaded V1.3 last night and it was on this morning which i downloaded to check it out. By around mid morning the masters at overtake had decided we are only worthy of being able to use V.5 and removed it from the site. So a complete waste of time for me and the modder. I for one will now not be downloading old crappy tracks to replace updated and better versions. If i still have the old version, then fine but will not fill my hard drive with anymore old crap.......

Sounds a lot like the (non) communication desaster I see at work.

I think it's good idea for the site representatives to give a statement why these updated mods are not fitting to be used here.

Of course the users don't have a legal right to know, but also nobody is under obligation to race here.

So a little communication would go a long way for a better understanding of the matter.

The parameters they have set up as acceptable to themselves is completely restrictive made worse by the fact that modders no longer want to publish on this site (i wonder why). So we, as users are expected to not evolve with the game and have to make do with an old version of the game basically. If, as an example i did not visit other sim racing sites i might be none the wiser as i guess some people dont. It is not as if we are talking about stolen content when a modder shows complete respect to the original mod maker. I for one will not be contacting modders and asking for them to upload to this site ever again.

If stuff gets removed from this site it's because the mod somehow breaks the terms of service. That has always been the case at RaceDepartment and now under new ownership with OverTake the same rules still apply.

No idea what happened in this particular case but in case people are wondering about our rules: https://www.overtake.gg/help/terms/

We can't please everybody unfortunately.

Also instead of having this discussion in a racing club thread where I only see the contents because @stigs2cousin was so kind to tag me, why not start a constructive thread in the feedback & suggestions forum so the OverTake staff can consider your thoughts @gearwhine and maybe we can even use it to improve things?

I have always done my best to create a community for every likeminded simracer and I know the new owners are as passionate as I am and are doing their best to make this community even better in the years to come.

I would make use of that info!

When i have a spare moment, i shall do exactly that. Hopefully it will be worth the effort. Thank you for the advice

Check the emperor server under results.
We have a gentleman's agreement to not post laptimes in rhe clear.
Theory is to "not frighten off rookies"
On the other hand every race needs it's Mazzespin :devilish:

Last time we ran this race we just used the Le Mans “no chicanes”, once you are racing you do not look to admire the scenery.
