Assetto Corsa Racing Club event
While I was following both John and Han had time to think about an overtake. From my perspective it really looked impossible to achieve that with a low risk strategy.
You certainly could not get a tow on the main straight, in corner, just was not possible, even with some small mistakes the overtake was not really on, they may lose time but certainly it did not allow an easy overtake.
They seemed to lose time but gain an advantage of a more useful straight line acceleration, where your car was at an angle and could not accelerate to the same extent
Following close was a risky strategy to, so easy to run up the back, tried that without success. Even Erik suffered from the lack of visibility in an attempt to get very close to facilitate an overtake.:(

Yes at Zandvoort it's very difficult to overtake without a mistake of the driver in front of you. The straight and Tarzan is probably your best chance but you will need a slipstream (or DRS) for that. It's quite comparable with Mugello in that aspect. I made some small mistakes that would have given you the opportunity to overtake but fortunately for me at those moments you weren't close enough to profit.

In the new layout turn 4 (Hugenholz) has got more camber what could mean you can take a different line there but with the same exit speed. And most important: the last turn before the straight (Arie Luyendijk) is broadend and has an increased angle (even more camber) so even GT cars can go flat out there with different lines and besides eachother (up till 3 cars!).

It's a pity the F1 race was cancelled this year, otherwise we would have seen if it really helps to overtake.

Your absolutely correct Han, I had plenty of time to watch John and yourself, with only one person and 12 laps or so to think about it all, plus all the practice runs I did, Even when you made an error, like the first bend. Even being close made no difference because you were always eventually pointing straight and had a better drive, which meant I was always on the back foot and taking a lot of risk carrying it to the next 50:50 corner with John and Denis waiting in the wings, so to speak.
I was in vain waiting for a big error which you and John never made. I soon realised all that small errors did was give me some free lap time and little else. :(
On a couple of times I tried running close, but if I had to back off, I just lost loads of time. On the last few laps I tried my best with both of you to force an error but it was quite hopeless.
I was not prepared to give my place up for a very risky go at it.:(
